Re: 1mm nozzle? Has anyone tried this with a MAX2

I don't think the stepper motor is going to be the issue, it being able to heat the filament fast enough. If in the end the print has to be 0.3mm a bigger nozzle isn't going to save you much time.

Looking at the social media it seems there is quite an impressive list of 3d print personalities that are planning on showing up this year. Maybe SeeMeCNC can have a post with a list of signed up sponsors (like they had in graphic form in previous years) and a "scheduled to attend" list.

Is there a profile for the max v3? Our makerspace just finished building one and I'm looking for an open source slicer to use instead of S3D that I use myself.

I'm impressed with the print, more impressed with the scan. How did you get such an accurate model?

Something like this... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:288182 Anyone have a link to a good Aluminum bed for the Rostock v2 and PEI? I can't find them on the matterhackers site which is where I get most of my stuff. I don't see how this can be printed without supports, there is about an 85% overhan...

Re: Ghost town

In general I have seen a dramatic drop in posts in many of the 3d print forums I subscribe to in the past 6 months or so. I think part of it is that some of the earlier participants have left and there is not an easy way for new people to find these forums. I also wonder if 3d printing has reached a...

I'm shocked. Just finish last printing without a glue for first layer. Only pure glass plate and PLA filament. Usually each time, I'm use glue or duct tape for a first layer. Maybe this is a special PLA ? Guys can you write me any other filament what I can use without glue ? Did you ...

Re: Dino Jam!

How hot is your extruder motor getting? It looks like your PLA is getting soft in an area where it shouldn't be and if your extruder motor is really hot that could be the cause. It may not be a hot end issue.

Re: .4mm Nozzle on v6 Extruding at .50mm

Is this normal? When I extrude some filament through my brand new v6 hotend and measure it with some mitutoyo calipers, I am getting a reading of .50mm. I set my nozzle size to .4mm and have noticed some problems (layering looks like lincoln logs rather than bonded ABS in the XY plane). Thoughts? I...

Sure... as a learning exercice, I was trying to build a parametric wall, in which you specify the wall dimensions, and min Max dimension of stones in both length and height. The idea was to randomly choose integer dimensions for each stone, and build the wall up. For example, all my stones are betw...

OpenScad is a different kind of programming language than typical and I always have to re-calibrate my brain every time I need to program in it. That being said there are ways to get variable type behavior out of it, it just isn't going to be in a way that feels natural. The best way I think to see ...

I second the dump the meshmixer support structures. They seem great in theory but I have a 0% success rate with them, even on printers that have a 98% success rate otherwise.
