Re: Curing LARGE parts without tilt mechanisms
Do you think this will drastically increase build time? You'd be lifting far more often, which means more time spent lifting, increasing print time, right? Or did I misread something?

Multiple x and z axis carriages printer
Hey Guys, I'm working through a build on a machine right now that will have separate x and z carriages and one large y axis. The y floats under the separate x and z carriages. The whole point of this is for better multi-material (several materials) prints with destring processes, different print hea...

Re: Ceramic printer: Need Help
The better solution here would be to buy an old zcorp powder/binder machine and modify it for ceramics printing if you want nice quality ceramic parts. You can pick up the old zcorps for just a couple grand sometimes and modifying it for ceramics should be no big deal.

Re: First kinda print...
This print really should be done in abs so that it can take the heat of the hotend without melting if you plan on using it to cool the barrel of your hotend. If you have an Orion it will already have it, but I just wanted to note it to make sure. If you have a Max (as I note you say "build"...

It would be really sharp if this had mounting holes on it for folks that want to add an enclosure for the print area in the future.

How's the progress on this looking? What are you doing for your linear motion? Actual linear bearings? Are you going with a belt driven system?

What's the extruder you have setup on this machine? I just noticed it passed over in the video, but I didn't recognize it off the top of my head.

Re: FDM v. the Rest of the 3D World
I've personally used every technology hands on that you guys have discussed and much more. I don't mean to seem like the negative one here, but FDM really does have quite a few downsides compared to other technologies I've used on a per case basis. I hear everyone about FDM and the cost going down a...

This is cool, thanks for sharing. I think it would be neat to see the custom connectors you designed curve right on up to the edge of the melamine. Maybe I'll play with that.

Re: Printing in PEI, PEEK, and more?
I'm trying to figure out how they're overcoming PEEK being harmful to people while melting it down. Weird. I learned about them from one of the larger 3d blogs. They didn't offer much more information either.

What's the general thoughts on this for abs prints? Is it good enough to hold a nice large abs print? Or am I better off sticking to hair spray?

Re: All prints are raising up on one edge
I'd bump your hot end temp up a bit. Let's say 235. I don't like the delamination...usually ends up being a hot end temp thing in my experience. I'd also recommend making sure the temp you're re reading is the actual temp.

Re: Front to back bed leveling
Yeah, that's the same process I use. The 4 point leveling as described by Gene. I'm spot on within a paper width's accuracy at all 4 points during that routine. I've also got the radius value tweaked. This is something above and beyond happening. I have great prints, it's only a problem at the outer...

Front to back bed leveling
Hey guys, more than anything I just want to run something past you. I've noticed recently on very large prints (nearly the whole print bed) That my hot end nozzle is off the bed (z) too far towards the rear of the machine, and runs into the bed on the front of the machine. I read the thread on here ...

Re: Fans - Why have them on the heads?
You could....wait for it...PRINT nozzle and mount designs to test out what works best. :O haha, but seriously, I've considered this myself, particularly in the thought process of running a heated chamber. At any rate, I wouldn't think nozzle designs should be a concern if you have CAD background.

Check your toothed pulley that mounts directly onto the motor shaft. Check that the set screws are tightened down to the shaft. I had this identical problem and spent forever trying to find the issue only to realize that all I had to do was tighten the set screw holding the pulley tight to the motor...

hmmm...is everthing that normally would have been mdf now aluminum? Are there any exceptions and if so, what are they? Also, does it include a glass build surface or have you been printing directly onto the aluminum?
