Re: The Ultimate Rostock Thing Collection
Another thing to add to the collection: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1695141 It's a cartridge system for spools since I disliked the wooden arm. I'm not sure if the V2 uses the same spool holders as my V1 that I built this for tho. [img]http://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/renders/...

Re: WTB: Assembled Seemecnc Hotend
The resistors show continuity from the terminal wires to the tinfoil on the side. That means I assembled it wrong or the resistors are bad, however unlikely.
Either way at this point I want to remove variables from the mix.

Re: Who wants to build me a new hotend and get paid for it?
Practice makes perfect. In this case practice blows fuses. Sure this won't be the last printing problem he faces and if he wants to solve them ALL with money, maybe it won't be economical but so what, it's his choice right? Normally I don't throw money at problems at all. But there comes a point wh...

Re: Who wants to build me a new hotend and get paid for it?
If you spent a week and could not fix it then it means your trouble shooting skills are not what it takes to use this printer. Wow, that's, helpful. FYI, there is a critical thing in troubleshooting, it's called "stop banging your head on the wall". Your assumption here implies that anyon...

Re: WTB: Assembled Seemecnc Hotend
Osiris on #reprap suggested I check the resistors for continuity against the hotend body and he was right, they were shorted out. Not just the old ones but the new ones as well. So it would seem my skills at such things properly are severely lacking. I already suggested he do the heater cart. upgrad...

http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=2594 Try following Gene's guide to build a kickass SeeMe hotend, the cartridges are much more robust in comparison to the power resistors. I contacted the vendor he used on Ebay and they don't sell cartridges anymore. And frankly, like I said above...

WTB: Assembled Seemecnc Hotend
In short my rebuilding of my existing hotend has resulted in fuse F3 blowing, three times now. What do I need? I need someone to build me a Seemecnc Hot End and make sure it works. I'll pay for the hotend and the building. I would just get one prebuilt from Seemecnc and pay them the extra but they d...

I suppose that's possible, but doesn;t make any sense. The hotend has been working perfectly.Polygonhell wrote:If it's blowing immediately, you have a short somewhere, most likely the Hotend wiring.
How can I test this?

Re: Dead Rostock Max printer
Ok, the fuse at F3 blew.
I moved the good fuse at F2 to F3 and turned the printer on, it immediately blew.
I have a wait of a week for new fuses, idea what to do so I don;t blow them?
Thanks

Dead Rostock Max printer
So today I switched on my printer like I have for the longest time. And the LCD flashed on, then went dead, and stayed dead. The fan on the Power Supply keeps spinning. I think I can connect to the Arduino part of the board via serial, but i'm not sure. The electronics show no sign of function. The ...

My printer constantly has printed things 5% undersized and i'm not sure how to fix this (or even if it's worth the effort)
Thanks!

Re: Hot end jam repeatedly 20 or so minutes into the print.
Printing the fan shroud part has helped immensely. I'm guessing the heat was creeping up the hotend. I still have the retraction high but it has not jammed recently. Also I ordered more PTFE tubing to replace the piece in the hot end for a better internal seal. (Mainly posted for the next person tha...

Re: Hot end jam repeatedly 20 or so minutes into the print.
Yes, but I was also getting this while printing a single-wall vase form. So the retraction can't be my only issue since I believe that never retracts.Mac The Knife wrote:That's what I hate about pla,,,, but if your retracts are to long, it creeps up the heat break and solidifies.

Testing that. I believe I increased it because I was getting a LOT of stringing as the head moved between locations.Mac The Knife wrote:try changing your retraction length to 3 mm.

Ran into Johnoly99 in #reprap that said it might be the PTFE tubing inside the hotend. Ordered some replacement, we'll see if that helps.

Re: Hot end jam repeatedly 20 or so minutes into the print.
I have had luck dialing down the feed rate on the LCD under printer options when this would happen to me with PLA. I do not see such an option. I see a speed setting for the extruder in Repetier and it's at 130mm/mind right now. The EEPROM shows Extr. 1 max. feedrate 40 mm/s Extr. 1 start feedrate ...
