Re: Wiring issue
How did it break? Did it just stop working, and you found the break by pulling on it? If so, then its neighbors are probably getting close to breaking and you should replace all of the wires in that part of the harness. Regardless, if it were mine I would see about buying a new connector with "pig ...

Yikes! I suspect the probe as well. I have to do my probing with my heaters off otherwise it randomly triggers.

Oh, ok. Mine seems to like .15mm. But I've replaced the steppers with .9 degree ones. And yes I did get your PM.

Re: WiFi dropout - how to reconnect?
Do you have a Maker's group in your area? Huntsville has one and they have 4 or 5 guys who print. Maybe you can take one of your problem children down to a local Maker's group. The other option is your local high or middle schools, they tend to have printers these days too. I wouldn't take your new ...

Re: WiFi dropout - how to reconnect?
I think that it's .4mm for a .4mm nozzle. So the size of the nozzle will define the layer height.
But I've never tried to go larger than .4mm, so I'm not sure.

Re: WiFi dropout - how to reconnect?
Yeah, deadlines suck. But with the SD card you can print without the WiFi. If you are going to be doing this as a business, you need backup printers. I have four of them. And a healthy collection of spare parts, and a voltmeter. If it doesn't hurt the quality of your finished product, re-slice your ...

The VIN undervoltage event is worth looking into. Since it's brand new, see if you can swap out the power supply with a new one.

I had nothing but trouble with mine doing this until I did my bed leveling with the heaters turned off. Problem solved.

I've got the Duet Ethernet, which drops out frequently as well. But it keeps printing, and I just have to hit the "Connect" button to bring it back up. Not really worth investigating to me. That said, DC42 is going to be your best help for this, see if you can get an answer over at: https://forum ...

So what did you change in your wiring? I don't have an I2C device, but it may be that you fried your transceiver.

Re: HE280 reading DEF after install on v2
The thermistor is connected in series with another resistor that's sized to make the thermistor run in its "sweet-ish spot" when it's at its working temperature. There's a good chance that this resistor is bad. That said, one of the things that I would be squeamish about is mucking around with ...

Do you have the specs on the old encoder? And pictures would help, especially of the connector.

Morgan Mega sighting
Okay, so not my machine, but while on a business trip to South Africa, I saw a Morgan Mega in action. Our supplier has one of these and it was pretty cool to watch run.
Aside from the massive build envelope, I didn't see any advantage to it though.

Same here about the Smoothie and the Duet. Smoothieboard seems stuck in vaporware land at the moment, and I had one and it quickly failed on me. One of the things that really didn't make sense was the pin layout for the display. I went to the Duet, and actually had the same short as you did, except ...

I think that if you go down one post in the forum you will get your answer.

But to answer your question, yes, mine gets off noticeably in the X & Y axises, but Z is slightly affected as well.

Yeah, one of them is bad. But I would swap it out for a modern hotend and reap the benefits of that upgrade. I really liked my Prometheus, but it wasn't compatible with my Delta Smart Effector, which I love even more.

Cura is doing something like that to me after I set up a new profile for my Mosaic. I no longer can set the hotend temperature inside of Cura, and I have to do it from the web interface for my Duet. Is this what's going on for you?

Yup. What Gene said. And the bed while you are at it. Or you could leave it at 12 VDC since it's adjustable. I've been running mine at 13.8 for years now and I haven't had a lick of trouble. Keep in mind that as you raise the voltage, you raise the current as well. So keep an eye on those terminal ...
