Re: Generated Circles in MatterSlice are horrible!?!
Quick Update - This issue have been identified and addressed in MatterSlice. The fix will be included in the next MatterControl update. More info on the problem here: https://github.com/MatterHackers/MatterControl/issues/204 To quote: The final analysis of this was that this model was exposing a ver...

Re: A school in desperate need of help!
MatterControl developer here. It's worth mentioning that there is a plugin within MatterControl called the Image Converter that takes flat image files (.jpg or .png) and turns them into printable models. Sounds like that is what you were hoping for with the Sonic image. You can get to it by clicking...

Re: Build platform image seems to be Orion sized on V2
Other than the watermark logo the bed image is generated dynamically based on the bed size (found in 'Slice Settings' > 'Printer' > 'General' > 'Bed Size'). On the Orion bed you should see a 7.5CM radius (each line is one CM) and on the V2 a 14CM radius. Note: Prior to 1.2 changes to the bed size di...

Just wanted to note - as of yesterday the SeeMe version of MC received an update to restore the terminal filtering option.

Re: MatterControl issues...
Yes - we can cook those profiles in no problem. The more the better. They will be loaded after the user selects the model. Most of the planned updates won't affect the core functionality much; the possible exception is the Library which is getting a major overhaul that will include optional cloud sy...

Re: MatterControl issues...
Thanks for the comments guys, the MC dev team is constantly soaking in feedback and trying to address things that are issues and explain the reasoning behind things that are purposeful. @geneb Before I wax philosophical on why things are the way they are in MC I wanted to mention that we'd be happy ...

Re: Matter Control Software
Thanks! We are definitely excited about this update. It has some long requested features (such as 3D layer view with accurate extrusion), plus some new fun stuff (like web monitoring). At the moment the SeeMeCNC and vanilla Mac versions are almost exactly the same so my guess would be that you've go...

Re: Matter Control Software
Glad to hear it. We will be pushing this fix, along with a few others, to general release next week. The issue was related to cultural settings (specifically comma versus period in numeric displays) and making certain that MC was consistent in its handling when passing slice settings to CuraEngine a...

Re: MatterControl problems...
Gotcha. In that case going from the new version back to the old version is almost certainly what caused the issue. The SeeMeCNC pre-release version of 1.1 is available here if you'd prefer to try that.

Re: MatterControl problems...
This looks like a backwards compatibility issue. Specifically, I'd say the slice engine selection is invalid in your current version. The SeeMeCNC version of the latest update (1.1) should be available soon, but in the meantime if you download the latest version directly from the MC site I believe i...

Re: Slic3r setting chart...
I realize it's a tad late to save you the trouble, but if you use Slic3r through MatterControl you can toggle 'Show help' which will turn on tooltips for all settings.

Re: Matter Control Software
Unconfirmed fix for this issue is now in the pre-release version of MC vanilla. Changing the update feed to 'pre-release' (found in Configuration), and checking for update will put you on this version.

Re: MatterControl 1.1 and Image Convertor Released
Other things that'd be nice: - Ability to drag drop parts from the queue into the library - when hitting the Add button within an item's view (to add more bits to the print) it'd be swell if the Mac version remembered and returned to the location I was last adding from. Added to the 'to do' list. T...

Re: Matter Control Software
If you can send your slice settings file that would be great. Go to 'Slice Settings' > 'Options' > 'Export', this will allow you to save out your current settings.

Re: mattercontrol please help
@pavel15 Which slicing engine do you have selected? You can check by going to 'Advanced Controls' > 'Slice Settings'. CuraEngine and MatterSlice tend to be the most forgiving.

Re: Matter Control Software
@enggmaug Are you able to successfully 'Generate' the gcode via the 2d layer view, or does that also cause a crash? edge922 is probably correct - there may be a local formatting issue on one of the settings that isn't being handled correctly, possibly by MC, possibly by CuraEngine. If we can get it ...

Re: Matter Control Software
Great article. I can certainly empathize with the challenge of addressing the requirements both beginning and advanced users. The original design intent with MC was never to be a 'newbie' oriented tool but rather to be a full featured tool that gives new users an easy ramp. We'll definitely continue...

Part of the MatterControl dev team here - I can confirm that 3D gcode visualization is high on the priority list of features to be implemented. Thanks for any feedback!
