Re: Question on tape covered melamine source
Awesome - thank you for your responses....after much research I kind of got the point that the tape is a manual application process - - bet you could come up with some sort of applicator (like a large edge bander) to but it on wrinkle free ;-) Maybe send the idea to Matthias Wandel (if you have neve...

Question on tape covered melamine source
This is an off topic question ;-) I just took delivery of a 130 watt laser cutter for my lab at the college where I teach (using it for rapid prototyping in my IoT class). Is there a source for the tape coated melamine that the Rostock kits come with - - or do you apply the tape at your location (wh...

Re: Print head crash at start of print
Mine just started doing this exact thing as seen in video. I went through the calibration process, set Z height, ran calibration code to check X,Y,Z in reference to center, modified steps/mm for my Bondtech QR extruder. Everything was going along fine - - then I loaded the fan shroud to print - the ...

Re: Issues getting Bondtech QR to work on V2
The Bondtech QR came assembled (so not sure which motor it came with) - and the wiring harness plugin for it has the following colored wires; Green - Grey - Yellow - Red I used the wire that came with the rostock to extend down to the Rambo; Green - White - Red - Black I connected as in my initial p...

Issues getting Bondtech QR to work on V2
Everything else on my V2 appears to be working - except my shiny new Bondtech QR. I have the wiring as follows (per various other posts on this forums) QR -->> Rostock Wiring Green -->> Black Grey -->> Red Red -->> Green Yellow -->> White The Rambo end is as follows (if looking at side of connector ...

Re: Weird Issue
Everything manually works - including heated bed and hot end. Just weirdness in doing calibration scripts - and getting the Bondtech QR to actually extrude (or show any signs of life at all ;0) Finally have some more time now that my students are on holiday break - will start disassembling and traci...

Re: Weird Issue
After replacing/upgrading PSU - I Initiated calibration procedures and started getting strange results. Successfully cleared and flashed firmware with latest from GitHub (20161209). Changed configuration.h to represent new PSU (type 2) as well as V2 (printer 2) Started and connected MatterController...

Re: Weird Issue
Mine came with the short wires needed to connect from the switch to the AC outlet to the PSU, and the ones that daisy chain on the power adapter plug on the Rambo. I had some spare 18 GA left from my V3 build - so I used that to go from the Rambo plug back to the PSU. Now, everything is working just...

Re: Weird Issue
Ordered the PSU replacement kit from SeeMeCNC - it arrived today. I have the assembled Max on its side and have removed the lower bed bottom - disconnected and removed old PSU and switch. Re: Weird Issue
Thanks Gene. Finished my V3 over the weekend and already have it printing - really like all the difference between the V2 and V3 (cabling, top of rack wiring, injection molded parts, auto calibration, etc). Is there a specific model that I should get that will fit the old style bottom panel in place...

Re: Rostock Max v3 calibrating script.
I want to use the borosilicate plate from my first V2 MAX that has a copper heat spreader and adhered PEI sheet all trimmed to the diameter of the original plate. I installed it - but it is smaller in diameter than the plate that ships with the V3 - and the calibration code causes the hot end to try...

Projector Recommendation
Getting back into my 3D printing phase after a 24 month hiatus. Have a DropLit V1 (purchased 2 years ago) that I built - but never purchased a projector. Any thoughts as to the current recommendations of projectors that would fit the V1? The information here is over 12 months old.
TIA

Re: Weird Issue
Thank you for the quick response. I was afraid it might be something like that. Will have to find the schematic for the version of the PSU they included with my kit. I know in the past on some PSU's I had to solder in a jumper to keep things going. I do not relish the disassembly required to be able...

Just finished building my 2nd V2 (bought it 2 yrs ago on Black Friday and just got around to having time to build it ;-)). Did get the ball-arm and injection cheapskate upgrades. Re: Help with DropLit build
Here are a couple of pics I received from Tech Support. Also - the manual references putting 3 cheapskates and 6 R4 bearing bushings - - what you will have in the build kit is 2 solid strips of 4 R4 bearing bushings - these do not come apart - you will have 4 cheapskate bearings on the front side of...

Re: Help with DropLit build
Received this from tech-support; George, The picture in the manual needs an update. The Uno is actually set back about almost to the middle of the plate that it mounts onto. You will be able to move the uno around and find the hole pattern that matches on the melamine. If you do want it closer to th...

DropLit manual observations
I will post manual comments as I go through the build.
Fig 3-6 shows the left side (with hinge holes) but figure 3-7 shows the partial assembly with the right side connected - if you follow the directions from 3-7 on - you will end up with the hinge side on the right - as I did )
