I also bought Meshcam and Cutviewer but they have big downsides when it comes to the 4th axis.

Well my printer upgrade money just went away in a lathe/mill combo machine  it's a bigger toy  That's next on my list. I'm thinking about a combo machine from Grizzly and then converting it to CNC with my recently acquired knowledge of it from 3D printing. It ain't as easy as 3D prin...

I was about to draw my own. Printed and installed it last night.
Trying it now and it's helping quite a bit with the stringing.

Parts to convert the Orion to Rostock ish size.
So I'm getting a bit limited by the size of the Orion. I was tempted to order a second printer but I'll keep my wallet happy and convert the Orion instead. The parts list I need to order: the Rostock delta arms, laser cut sheets, glass plate, Onyx bed, 3x 48" of 1X1 T slot and GT2 belts. I know...

Re: Is there a speed adjustment for the PEEK fan?
Anyone try different resistors in the standard hot end ? A pair of 6.8 ohms should produce ~40 Watts from 12 volts, a 10 ohm pair around 30 Watts... Just wondering if that would be adequate - my hot end gets to 225 WAY before the bed gets to 90, so I'm just wondering if the hot end is overpowered -...

Re: Show us your remote monitoring setup
Well I do not monitor my 3D printer as I never leave the house when it's on but I do monitor my CNC machine. I have an incoming VPN connection setup on my computer and I just use remote desktop to control mach3 remotely. For video I'm using a trendnet TV-IP851WIC. It's a cloud enabled camera so you ...

Re: orion hot end wont heat
I only had 3.5 days of printing when my resistors kicked the bucket and I had to replace them as my hotend wouldn't go above 215-218 or keep a constant temperature. I went with a 40W heat cartridge and while I had the hotend off of the printer I went with a screw in thermistor. It served me well for...

I finally got around to install my V5 with V6 heat block and nozzle. I can't get that SOB to print for more than 1 layer with PLA. No problem with ABS.

Your nozzle might be a little loose. Heat the hotend to 230C and tight it up a little.

Re: Orion Hot end very slow to heat up
I've had that problem with my Orion. Both resistors were cracked. I've since installed a 12v 40W heat cartridge. Even though it's using the same power it's a lot faster to heat up and once the PID were readjusted the temperature is also more stable. While you're at it you may want to order a screw i...

I did it with a press drill on low speed and a brand new 2.5mm bit. Gauged the depth with the nozzle hole -.1mm on the depth gauge of the drill. Worked fine but I was doubting the accuracy of said gauge.

The only thing I wasn't too comfortable doing was to redrill the thermistor's hole to the proper dept. It's pretty darn close to the thread of the nozzle.

Re: Under extrusion...
you guys mean do something like this?
I was lucky... I had ordered screw in thermistors and a heat cartridge for an eventual upgrade to the stock hotend if the E3D V5 I get (ordered before I knew the V6 was coming out) keep jamming with PLA and they came in as the resistors failed.

Under extrusion...
For my last 2-3 prints I've been having a bit of under extrusion with my Orion. Keeping an eye on the temperature of the hot end I've noticed some 10-20°C temp drop.
So I took the resistors out... well what's left of them.
