Surface Density of top layers

So I am just now printing my first part with Cura and I noticed something that looked odd in the preview but decided to go with it anyway. It seems from the preview that the top surface would not be as dense as I am used to seeing in the Slic3r preview. GapsinTop.png But due to time constraints I ra...

Slic3r Support not supporting.

So I have had some issues lately with support structures still allowing A LOT of sag where they should be supporting. This creates very undesirable and loosely stranded surfaces. These surfaces are parallel to the build surface. I am using the following settings(See attached) Support Settings.jpg Do...

Re: Thing 1 & Thing 2!

I also need to model up a Princess Unikitty as they want one of those real bad as well. Too bad the dang printer is stuck doing work! :) Great looking stuff by the way.

Thanks for the Olaf link.

Re: Solidworks Printer Driver

This has to do with Windows 8.1 and its ability to have 3D Drivers made for it.

SOLIDWORKS 2015 has this ability built into it that allows you to set certain settings for the output. The slicer must be in the installed printer driver.

It would be interesting to see these for the Max

Bone, What are you going to be working on?

I, at some point soon, will be using this to make an enclosure. Probably a few other items as well. But that will probably be first.

Re: Rostock Max v2 CAD assembly?

I too am very interested in this! I would assume they exist within SeeMeCNC. Especially since I believe a model of the Orion is one of the rotating images on the SOLIDWORKS 2015 Splash Screen!

Congrats on that SeeMeCNC by the way! Now hand over the files!

Re: I strongly encourage you watch "Print the legend"

I just watched this and thought it was really good. It hit home on many levels over the fast growth startup trials and tribulations. I have been deep in that before, not in the 3D printing industry, but it is the same in all. I was one of the guys to get pushed out by our "Bre". I am think...

Moving Software setting to new PC

I need to setup a standalone pc for my printers and want to know if there is a fast way of copying all of the setting from the one currently working pc(W8.1) to the other pc(W7) Or is it just as simple as installing the softwares and just copying all of the material config files and the updating all...

PEEK Fan Shroud Complete before cleanup: Not too shabby for print number 1  PeekFan1stPrintComplete.jpg Installed it and went to print the Layer Fan Shroud and it would not stick to the surface. Re: RJ's v2 Build

Well she is off and printing the PEEK Fan Shroud! So far so good other than I feel like the manual is intentionally forcing you to work a pause mid print and reload filament as the "2 meters" required to print the Peek Fan Shroud is laughable. There is close to a meter below the extruder :...
