Re: Rostock MAX V3

I've got no pictures. But, I have looked over both the belt tensioner and how it works, and I think it would be easier for SeeMeCNC to drill an extra hole in the top's support brackets for a total of four L brackets each with only two screw holes. Then the axle of the belt would go through two of th...

Re: Rostock MAX V3

That's just it, SeeMeCNC is literally a CNC shop, and it is possible for them to offer other materials. I'm fairly certain cutting aluminum is the next series of laser machines, and some people, like myself, yea, would like you pay for better parts. Aircraft Aluminum is honestly great stuff to make ...

Rostock MAX V3

Hello, I found a real good belt tensioner, that you can print out. When I add that, with a V6 E3D Print Head, there's two improvements moving toward a better design. I liked the new fastener for the type of print head and will be getting one soon. I wonder if I can make it all fit the way the old on...

Re: E3D V6 Printer Head Mod!

The Iron PLA is ferrous, but is it conductive? Can you align the magnetic particles? Maybe you'll have to rig up an electromagnet around the nozzle to orient the iron particles... It could be very interesting but, it's not transparent, like the metal flake paint you're thinking of. The paint, is a ...

E3D V6 Printer Head Mod!

Hello All, I just finished modifying my Rostock MAX V2, to include the E3D V6 Printer Head. It did take away from the total height a print could be but, it was easier than I thought. I actually put it off and thought about it for awhile. There are no real instructions to change this out, and the the...

Re: Starting and Open Source Project?

Hello, I went to that link, and I liked it. It looks like a good place to start. Thanks! If you look into the record player, and the first movie cameras and projectors, they were being invented by more than one inventor in different areas of the world at the same time. If it's meant to be, it will b...

Re: Starting and Open Source Project?

The hording, is due to a inside operation. Ever since the invention of the nuclear bomb, America, has not trusted engineers or scientists. Basically, we gave the Russian's the blueprints, as soon as we figured it out. The patent office, rights, royalties, that's all broken, only big money makes mone...

Starting and Open Source Project?

Hello, Where does it all start? Is it simple idea we've all seen before, and just never really approached as a group, where the group would be the best idea? Okay, I want to start an Open Source Humanoid Robot. Well, it still takes parts, this is the kind of place to start, in the middle of an Open ...

I finally finished answering and editing my message.

My first ringtone was Journey, "Anyway you want it"
the next was the Beatles, "Revolution"
and now, it's live long, die young, or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bzWSJG93P8

What the hell, I look just like him.

Re: A Mount for the E3D V6 to Rostock Max V2

Maybe, I need to read the other manual for the first Rostock Max V1. There's a deleted chapter, and it's written there and chapter 22 was described as bad luck. I've read my whole manual, and I ain't seen that calibration. You do know it's a PDF file, and I can just search for "Calibration"...

Re: A Mount for the E3D V6 to Rostock Max V2

I'm surprised that there's no calibration procedure for this thing. I just printed what was suppose to be a 1 cm cube. Took it off of the print bed, measured it, then corrected the X,Y and Z, by scaling the project. My Z=0.864, X=0.953, and Y=0.984 So my cube was 10.16 mm long, 10.49 mm wide, and 11...

A Mount for the E3D V6 to Rostock Max V2

Hello, I went to Thingiverse, and found a mount, I liked it but, it was for E3D's V5, which is bigger. The smaller profile of the newer V6 print head, doesn't fit in the printed mount. So, I changed it, and exported as a STL file, and slic3r just got done with it. The tolerances of the V5 mount, wou...

Nozzle diameter and Slic3r

Hello all! I found that working with copper and brass, you can take a spoon to a quarter, tap on the edge, and over a few hours of tapping mushroom the edge of the coin. The same is true if you're nozzle ever slams into the print bed during adjusting the Z height and fine tuning the Horizontal Radiu...

It's alive but, ...

Hello, It's alive! But, after 3 attempts to print the Peek Fan Shroud, I found out it doesn't fit. I'm thinking that the injection molding are newer than those versions, and the tougher injection molded frame for the hot end and universal joints, is not figured into the print for that. So, I'm now p...

I remember Calibrating my printer for the first time.

I had already worked a hard day, and was getting tired. I didn't want to make any mistakes so, I decided to go to bed. The damn thing looks more like a spider, kept me awake all night long, and all it did was get hot and move.

Re: This machine was meant for mods.

I can see from the hacks, there's some problems. Graphite conducts electricity pretty well but, it's a resistive semiconductor that really just handles heat well. I was rethinking it, and remembered that. Under the graphite should be a beryllium copper ground plane. If you look at the ground planes ...

Get ABS filament first. Don't think about anything else.

Hello, It would be nice, if the Assembly Manual, included the first line you should buy because, it's ABS. The first thing you're going to want to print is the Fan Shroud for the Peek Fan on the HotEnd. As it turns out, ABS, can handle higher temperatures and you don't need an abundance of the more ...

Calibrating X,Y, and X axis for first print.

Hello, This things are manufactured with all of the Rostock MAX V2, injection molding the same. So, unless they change, this won't. It's not a 1,2,3,4 process but, should be allot easier than the start numbers they give you in the book. Screw in your end stop screws to less than 1/4 inch high from t...

Who says I didn't get it to work? Who says I gave up? I wish you well with your project however. Okay, now I believe you really are a welder. That's welding. But, in ship building there are bigger welds. In the construction of tanks, bigger welds. Some welds are so difficult, they are left to robots, and if you are a welder, then you know, there are welds that you are incapable of preforming but, a machine can do it. In a war of science v...

Re: This machine was meant for mods.

How much did you know about welding before you started? Yea, you've got this, PLA, ABS, and Nylon. You think I wouldn't consult a welder before I tackled this? I might even consult somebody else that knew more that I do on several levels. Did you consult a metallurgist, or tackle something as big as...
