Re: Beta Tester Thread (OPEN NOW)

I just saw this! This is amazing timing. I have been trying to figure out which DLP to buy... I have an Orion and a Rostock V2, but I need some parts printed without the "artifacts" of extrusion. I have been using my CNC mill for these parts. An SLA printer would solve this problem nicely....

Re: Models to Blueprints

I understand your concern about the cloud. I don't have a problem with it for many uses. I just know some execs who are hoping to push us all toward renting our software from now on. I think it that's bad for us. As I said, it was an "off-topic rant". I've made a living writing software f...

Re: Models to Blueprints

You might be able to utilize Autodesk Fusion 360. It's a free cloud based CAD app. Thanks for the tip. I guess they've been tightening down on the 'free' part. The best I can find is a 30-day trial, followed by $40 a month. Off-topic rant: Personally, I think we all need to reject so-called Cloud-b...

Re: Models to Blueprints

Try a simple .eps file - I've used that right from Illustrator for a lot of cut files for laser cutters etc, it's actually pretty common. He doesn't seem to be able to understand these options. It's a bit shocking. I really like his work on other projects. Find a new injection molder. How can you s...

Models to Blueprints

Since this area is for "General hangout discussion area for other non-printing stuff" -- I'd like to ask if anyone knows how I can convert some models to a blueprint-like format. An injection molder I want to use is apparently stuck in 1996. I wanted to send him an STL, DXF, etc. He asked ...

Re: LED lights for the Hotend -- Wierd Story

Where in your system is 6V generated? Aren't you using an ATX power supply? I would think the fan is getting 12V via PWM.

Ok, good to know, thanks. The silly little part I made uses the two unused tabs on Rev 2. I guess they'll be LED holders afterall.

I looked at GitHub and here in the Downloads section - I can't find anything higher than 91. Where did you get it?

Re: The "PartDaddy" Large Format 3D Printer

A heated auger is common on injection molding machines for extruding plastics.

In one end goes pellets and out the other comes melted plastic. The auger tapers to produce pressure for injection molding.

Re: Axles on the Orion Delta...

I printed out a couple of "stops". I attached them via the unused hole near the rod ends. (The same hole is on all three corners. On one of them is in use by the nozzle fan.) I used a 4-40 nylon bolt to hold them in place. Now if the rods start to slide these will stop them from going very...

Re: Axles on the Orion Delta...

I just got my Orion last week (end of June 2014). Came with firmware v91. It appears there are two screws for each rod which clamp them in place on the three tower what-cha-ma-calls. However, the three on the hot end don't seem to have anything preventing them from walking out. But it seems the nozz...
