Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

Brian, thanx for the Measurments of the hobbed gear. I have now one of these on Order: http://www.eztronics.nl/webshop2/catalog/Phidgets/Phidget-Motors?product_id=219" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it´s 220 oz/inch. Should be enough ;-) I ordered that Tytan Extruder some da...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

Is the OD of the original hobbed gear 12.5mm also? I´m not at home for the next 2 weeks, but want to order the parts. What I think is that the diameter where the teeth are is more important. Somebody here who can meassure the OD and the diamenter where the filament is in? If it´s not exactly the sam...

Re: Direct drive / EZStruder with small nozzle diameters

Has anybody tried going to 0.9 degree steppers like Jimustanguitar suggested? That seems like the easiest solution to try. I have been creeping up on the limit of the stock setups resolution, so I'm looking at options now. Yepp, I´m using 0.9° Steppers with 32 Microsteps on a azteeg X5 Board. Worki...

Re: Direct drive / EZStruder with small nozzle diameters

Has anybody attachted a geared Motor to the EZStruder?
Most geared Motors have 8mm rods, so which hobbed gear can be used?

Any links for this?

Re: Acetal copolymer

I tested the POM Filament from E3D. It´s ok through the E3D-V6 Hotend.

But it´s sticking to nothing. Not to PEI, not to glass, not to Tape. Nothing.
Doesn´t matter which Bed Temperature. Gave up on this POM thing

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End

Hi, is it possible that you share a solidworks file (or step, or iges) ? Want to mod your effector to use with tricklaser arms. And in your Version the arms hitting the solid around the axles when you are trying to print a large circle. So I have to flaten it a little bit. Solidworks would be nice ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End

Here's my latest one. Going to print tomorrow or this weekend and try it out. The model is rough and I just hacked it together to get a prototype made and fit up all the parts. I plan on cleaning up the fillets on top of fillets and making the styling smoother at a later date. Dimensions are on the...

Re: Variable infill.

In simplify3D you can set as much configs as you want to the same object.
E.g.: 0-10mm 5 outerperimeters, 50% infill
10-20mm 3 outerperimeters, 20% infill
etc.
etc.

there are a lot of informations on their website

Re: Problems with PEI

@Teoman: My PEI Sheet is very good at a starting point of 95°C. At 100°C it is good and I have to wait to complete cooldown that the part will pop off. At 110°C and above my part is sticking like hell and I have to use a lot of force to get it loose. So, if your heatbed is only going to 88°C, you wi...

Re: Converting to 24VDC on the heated bed

Thank you for the feedback. If you have a current limiting power supply, you gain some advantages. Such as: 1- When your bed heats up the resistance goes up, but as you are current limiting, the voltage of the power supply also goes up so you are still able to pump some energy to the power supply. ...

Re: The state of Autocalibration

The reasoning is because I don't have money (high school student to) so I couldn't Quad extrude if I wanted. You might say "you can't pay $30 for 2 steppers, but you can pay roughly 500 for the kraken and X3 Pro?". Yes, I cant, I had money then, I don't know. This is the way of things :P ...

Re: First layer temp? MC slicer

Changing temps and/or speeds during a print is not the best idea. You will see every speed and/or temp change on the part. Of course, you have to look close to it, but when you are printing high resolution/quality parts, you can´t do that. Better to buy a PEI sheet. Since I´ve installed it, I never ...
