Re: Not coming up to temperature...

Nothing in the firmware has changed and again, it had the same problem using the original thermistor when it did not before. I will have to keep looking for an answer though at this point I'm left without a clue.

Re: Not coming up to temperature...

Thanks for the quick reply, Nylocke! Let's see if I can hit each of your questions..... [*]I will look to see if the thermister type in the firmware has changed--- it was fine before. [*]The new thermister is the same stock thin one as before from E3D. [*]Thermister is indeed in the hole on the hot ...

Not coming up to temperature...

I have been using a E3D hot end head for a few months with no problems until recently. The printer is now having problems extruding. I have used a type J thermocouple to check the temperature and its falling quite short. With the target temperature set to 235c the thermocouple is only showing around...

Re: Enclosure build to print ABS and Nylon bigger and faster

I have looked on the McMaster site for the Heat-set insert installation tips but can't seem to find them... where did you get yours or did you make your own?

Thanks, Mark

Re: Best place to pick off 12vdc for LED lighting

What Tinyhead said... I originally tee'd the power off the hot end fan but soon found out the LED's flicker (pulsed) bad enough to really annoy me and give me headaches just looking at it. When I later replaced the power supply to a 750 watt unit (wow, was it worth it!), I ran a direct 12v line up t...

Re: Can anyone slice the 3 Heart Gears or 3 Cube Gears?

Not sure what happened, but I updated Repetier to 1.0.5, loaded the original STL and after 5+ minutes it sliced OK.

I wasn't expecting a 20 hour pring with a 50% in ilfil and no support....

I'll post pics (much) later tomorrow.

Thanks

bubbasnow, would you be willing to download the heart 5-6 and try it with Slic3r?

Re: Can anyone slice the 3 Heart Gears or 3 Cube Gears?

that sure was a quick reply!

So have you recently done it? I know he's updated his files....

If they open OK for you, What am I doing wrong? A lot of my other downloads from Thingiverse have been fine.

Could it be a corruption in my software? I'm running Repetier v1.0.1 and Slic3r 1.1.7

Thanks

Can anyone slice the 3 Heart Gears or 3 Cube Gears?

I've been trying to come up with a neat gadget print as a handout to clients and friends to show off the R Max's capability. (I'm open to suggestions). I like Emmet's heart and cube gears as well as his transmission, but I have yet to be able to slice them with Slic3r. His STL files all seem to come...

Re: L-Cheapo Laser

I'm wondering if I could use my full blown GibbsCam and just tell it that it is cutting (engraving) with a .005" end mill or something...? At least the paths are super controllable and G-code edits would be relatively minor. They want $500 to write a custom post  . For that matter how abo...

Re: Extruder Calibration

Layer alignment looks good, IME printers tend to print slightly undersized. You can adjust the X/Y size by changing the delta arm length in the firmware, I increased it slightly I think. Z ought to be spot on because it's direct translation of the belt motion. The detaching could just be not printi...

Re: Rostock Max V2 Effector Solid Model

I'm also looking for a effector plate solid model so I can model up some accessories for the effector plate. I downloaded the Repables STL listed above, but Solidworks doesn't like the large number of faces... Is there a chance of finding a STEP or parasolid So I can at least interrogate it for some...

Very nice enclosure!

I should have figured it would come from a quad copter guy... There are a whole lot of us here, what flavor of controller are you using? APM? OpenPilot? KK?

Re: How-to: Thermistor calibration

Captain Starfish, How does the process or table differ when working with the E3d thermistor (type 8)? Am I just substituting the 97 for an 8? I'm measuring the gap between the nozzle and heat block with a certified calibrated type J thermocouple.... the thermocouple is reading right at 200c with the...

Re: Transparent ABS T-Rex skull

Thanks for posting the G-Code lightninjay! I'm installing the new E3D hot end as well as tossing my 50 cent trash bag curtain in favor of super clear vinyl table cover... $4.00 from the fabric store (probably the same stuff as the shower curtain). I agree that an enclosure does help with warping and...

BTW, what settings did you use to print this one?

Can you cut/paste the settings from the g-code?

Thanks,

Re: Hello from Israel

duvdef,
I should also mention: DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN the screws! You can easily crush the laminate with the nuts. My son did about 10 screws before I noticed it....
I had to disassemble a piece or two and clamp the laminate and repair it with medium thick CA ( superglue).

Re: Hello from Israel

DUVDEV, The assembly PDF will get you on your way just fine.... The only thing I would have added would be an extra 12 volt power lead pair just like the fan power leads to the hot end so you can power LED lights around the tip. It is a minor thing, but if you add it while building your printer, it ...

I have also later found out to check that the "receive cache" size under printer settings needs to have a value of 63 ( mine said 127) to avoid check sum errors well into running a print.... See my posts and pics here... http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=1115" onclick...

UPDATE
After checking the Receive Cache Size" under printer setting, I found mine was set to 127 and not 63. After making the change, and this change alone, I ran the same part with no errors.....
