Re: V2 Enclosure

So this a took a bit longer than expected, but i have the base done, I havent gotten around to splitting it into different parts! But i did come up with a really interesting way of making doors. It uses two sheets of plexi that overlap in the back and then there will be handles in the front to clos...

Looks like the Glass Transition Temp is around 380C. Were you looking at the Decomposition Temperature for the 600C?

Re: Microcenter Inland Filament is the same as Toy builder l

The Boston Microcenter has plenty of Inland filament. If you do not see what you want, just ask someone to look in the back. I usually have to do that. I've tried Inland PETG material, and it works pretty well. A bit stringy and has a hard time bridging to fill across infill. Need some more work on ...

Re: Monolithic Platform for E3Dv6 Hot End

My only concern is that plastic might warp from the heat of the hotend. I've decided to design on platform that acts as the fan shroud. Needs a little more work, then I'll share it it here. I'm going to try and print the next platform out of PETG also.

Soildworks 2013 would be the best for me. But I prefer Parasolid or STEP files for a generic file format.

Re: Whats that Squeaking Sound?

I just went over the all the screws mounting the towers and they were all loose. I think that the vibrations are loosening all the hardware. I was able to get my finger on the belt and push it aside alittle and the noise went away. I'm going to have to take it apart and look at it. Something is goin...

Re: Whats that Squeaking Sound?

I think I've narrowed it down to somewhere in the lower Y-axis tower. It seems to be some rubbing going on with the belt somewhere in there. Have to find some time to take it apart and look at it.

Re: Whats that Squeaking Sound?

can you make it squeak with printer off and moving platform around by hand? It could be coming from the cheapskates or idler pulleys. does it go away if you run without the Zero-Lash straps? Do all the rod end joints move freely when off printer? I can not make them squeak by moving it around by ha...

The fan shroud is the stock E3D unit. Does not even come close to touching the part.

Re: Whats that Squeaking Sound?

I had a similar sound. It was actually the fan shroud scrapping along the part. I sanded down the shroud to provide more clearance and the squeaking went away. Which fan was it? The noise mine has seems to be dependent on movement, but something could be flexing a fan causing the squeak. Would love...

Re: Whats that Squeaking Sound?

I got a similar sound a couple of months back. The shaft had seized inside the aluminium Ujoint. Mine was stuck good and the shaft was moving together with the ujoint. your sound seems to be metal against metal. So i would guess your u joint is about to seize up, or it already has and the shaft is ...

Whats that Squeaking Sound?

Can anyone help with this high pitched squeaking sound? It started doing after I put dampers and TL arms on. I've tried adjusting the bands on the arms and touching panels to see I quiet the noise to pin point the source. It's one of those sounds you can't really tell where it is coming from. [youtu...

Except on small parts and features. Depends on the cycle time of each layer.

What is preferred by everyone? 3 squirrel fan on the sides or 1 bigger fan with a duct surrounding the hotend?
