Pics of the Maleficent Horns Assembled!
I finally got the horn and skullcap sections assembled and this is how they tuned out. I haven't put the two halves together permanently yet as I still need to custom fit the skullcap to the persons head, but this gives you an idea of what they look like. I will wrap the entire piece in Worbla once ...

Maleficent Horns - Skullcap - Final Print
Here's a video of my machine creating the last piece of the Maleficent horns that I'm printing for a costume. This is the skullcap section (very large and thin) and the Rostock does an AMAZING job with it. I couldn't be happier with the way that each of these pieces have turned out. Incredible! Now ...

Re: Anyone use UPS? You can guess why I'm asking...
I didn't realize that I could resume the print. The laptop never went off, the power "flicker" just stopped the print process. I didn't see a button that said "resume" so I trashed the entire piece and started over. How DOES one resume a print that stalled but never lost connecti...

Anyone use UPS? You can guess why I'm asking...
Does anyone here use a UPS connected to their printer? Can you recommend a good one if you do? Yes, it finally happened to me. Halfway through a 7 hr. print job, the lights flickered upstairs and I heard a "beep beep" sound from the basement The job had died and the hot end just sat there ...

Maleficent Horns -2nd section
Here's the second part of the set of Maleficent horns I'm making for a costume. I really love how smooth the finish is on these prints. The Rostock is amazing! Print job was just a little less than 5 hours on this part. Here's the link fo...

Re: kapton - with or without?
I actually covered my bed with 8" x 12" sheets of Kapton (found on Amazon) and then cut two sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil the same size as the glass (put the glass on top of the foil sheet and cut around it with a razor knife), placed both sheets of foil on top of the Kapton and put ...

I took screenshots of the settings I used for the Maleficent prints and will post them below. I use ABS juice for the bed adhesion.

Re: Maleficent Horns - (First Section) on my Rostock
The files are all on Thingiverse. Here's the link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:453002" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The skullcap pieces (the largest pieces) are best printed upside down, so flip them 90 degrees from how they load so the "horn" is flat on the...

Maleficent Horns - (First Section) on my Rostock
Making a set of "Maleficent" horns for a Halloween costume. The entire project is comprised of six sections, this is a video of the first section. Using black ABS. (sorry for the wiggle...I should have centered more on the piece...I'm learning...) http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Here's a video of my Rostock Max v2 aka 'The Starfleet Replicator" printing the "Tower of Pi" (short version) using ABS. Enjoy! Here's the direct link for those who have trouble viewing on the forum: https://www.youtube.com...

Re: Having Trouble With Slic3r/Repetier
The trouble is with the new version of repetier. I uninstalled the current version and "downgraded" to 0.95F. The same "Tower of Pi" file that showed as not manifold in the newest version now shows manifold in the older version of repetier. Looks like they still have some bugs to...

Having Trouble With Slic3r/Repetier
I need to pick a brain or two. I have a Rostock Max 2 and am running Repetier v 1.03 on my laptop connected to my printer. The issue I'm running into is when I try to load the "Tower of Pi" STL (fixed version) file from Thingiverse. It first tells me that the object is not manifold. So I t...

First Prints!
Here are a few of the things that are first off my new Rostock2 (now called the Starfleet Replicator). The first print was a small calibration cube. The second was a 30mm plug test and the latest print was my attempt at the short version of the Tower of Pi. Used ABS on all.

This is an issue that comes up fairly often. nitewatchman What I don't get is HOW? Do I need to put in better photos? g. That's where I messed up too. I swear we looked at the pictures a dozen times to make sure we had it the same and ended up with them not lining up right. Still ended up with the ...

Rostock Max v2 Hardware Pack - Parts Labels
Hello everyone. I recently built my first Rostock Max v2 printer and had a blast doing it. One of the things that helped make my life easier when I first started sorting out the hardware kits was to create some sticky labels to put on the outside of each bag of screws, nuts, washers, etc. etc. ident...

What's wrong with R2-D2? Couple of pics of the R2 unit I'm building with my son. I'll be using my Rostock to print parts for it. Just thought your comment was ironic. LOL! Your printer looks awesome! Can't wait to see what you make. (Maybe an R2?)
