Re: No Lights on first power up

Take a very close look at the LCD adapter board. The solder joints nearest the ribbon cable in your picture look like there might be a bridge between pins. May just be glare, but worth checking.

Re: Can no longer print at all

I suspect that the version of Matter Control you are using is not the same as the one in the Max instruction manual. If you can get an older release of MC, the one used in the manual, use it.

The positioning problem you are wrestling with is a Matter Control problem, not a printer issue.

Re: Hot End exceeds set temp and keeps climbing

Fix it in MC where it is broken. If R-H works, then printer configuration is good.

Re: Can no longer print at all

Some of the settings may look a little odd, since they may be framed in the assumption of Cartesian movement printers. Matter Control may show the round bed and center the model in the view, but somewhere the slicer needs to be told the bed size and center point. This handshaking of information gets...

Re: Can no longer print at all

If your printer goes to the correct positions when the tower calibration macros are run, then your EEPROM settings are likely fine. So if everything you try to print goes to the wrong spot, then the problem is likely in your slicer settings. Could be bed dimensions, bed center, maximum height, gcode...

Re: Windshadow's Rostock Max V2 build

All of my printing with ABS has been with black filament. About 4 x 1kg spools so far. Have not had any particular trouble getting it to adhere, but then have no other colors of ABS to compare. Getting it to stick to glue requires a good first layer height as nitewatchman says. Also, I found fairly ...

Re: MAX V2 Repetier 0.92.6 end-stop & manual settings

I don't think it is the cause of the problem you have described, but I believe the line

#define ENDSTOP_Z_BACK_MOVE 2

should have a value of 5 like X and Y, instead of the differing value of 2.

Based on recent thread "error uploading repetier", I suggest that you uninstall Ardunio IDE version 1.6.7 and then install version 1.6.1 which is the same version used in the tutorial.

Re: Just built Rostock Max V2, Printed fan shroud too big

Almost certain that you have the diagonal arm length set wrong. Guessing you have the length of the old style arms (269mm IIRC) but the newer ball end arms are longer (290.8mm).

Re: error uploading repetier

I'm guessing that the version of Repetier firmware that you are trying to load was written for a different version of the Arduino IDE. The library inclusion is failing because the compiler can't find it. It should be possible to alter the Repetier sketch, but far simpler to just download the matchin...

Re: Prints STOP after several hours

If you are printing from the computer, it sounds like the computer is going into standby/sleep and causing the print to be interrupted. The data being sent to the printer is not an activity that will keep the computer awake. Eventually the computer sleeps and the printer runs out of commands to exec...

Re: z lift not working

Speed for non-print moves is likely too high. The slicer speed values are in terms of cartesian movement. The carriage movement rate of a delta printer gets much higher as the effector moves away from a tower. A speed of 150mm/s in the slicer is generally safe for the entire build area. You can go a...

Re: Alarming sounds, but no movement

You might try setting your maximum step rate to a much lower value (I'd suggest 5-10% of whatever it is now), then see what it does. I'm guessing the speed is too high.

Re: Real print volume of new delta arms

Factory says you lose about an inch of Z. Since arms are only 31mm longer seems like it could not be more than that difference. I believe the ball joint arms mount to a higher point than the u-joint arms do on the injection molded carriages, so that would reduce the difference as well. Have not moun...

Re: New Rostock MAX V2 prints 5% small in X and Y

By plotting the diagonal length values I've tried so far along with their resulting print dimensions, I came up with a new diagonal length of 275.7mm. After plugging that in to the EEProm settings and retuning my Z heights again, the first calibration print was dead on 40.0 x 40.0 mm in X and Y. Ar...

Re: New Rostock MAX V2 prints 5% small in X and Y

The new ball link arms use the new longer arm length value of ~290mm. If you have the u-joint style arms, the correct arm length vale is 269mm. Change that setting and print size should improve. You may need to recalibrate. You'll definitely need to reset height for Z=0.

I believe that code was only good toward the first 50 sets they produced. Those sold out several weeks ago. Perhaps there was a more recent code?

Bought them and have not yet installed. The IM skates have mounting bosses for the ball bracket. I see no reason you couldn't print an adapter that would bolt to the cheapskate and add the needed bosses. The ball brackets are part of the ball arm kit.

Don't know what slicer you are using, but it may have a setting for width of extrusion of support material. If that is extremely high, it will produce the symptom you described.

So either the slicer is generating bad gcode or the machine is executing it incorrectly. Try downloading a different slicing program and use it to create a new gcode file. KISSlicer is one that I like. If the printer behaves as it should for speeds and temperatures using code produced by a different...

Re: Having trouble calibrating towers

Did you set Z height in eeprom, or did you set Z zero via the LCD panel? I have had issues when using the LCD to set Z zero. It worked fine when adjusting center gap, but then the confirming step resulted in a crash. Maybe something wrong in firmware. I use the LCD to adjust the gap, then take the n...

Re: Having trouble calibrating towers

So if command sequence you are using is go home then go to Z0, and it results in a crash, there is good evidence that Z height needs to be changed. I try to keep these rules in mind: Changing the horizontal radius does not change height at center. Adjusting the horizontal radius changes the "fl...
