Is that okay though? I mean, do I have to take this apart and redo the RTV? Or is it okay?Mac The Knife wrote:Yep, it was an air pocket in the rtv holding the resistors in. Mine did that, and I pulled the plug right away!!

Re: Aurora's Rostock Max v2 build
Okay so I'm performing all the calibration stuff in repetier and while I was doing the PID auto tune I heard a loud pop like something exploded come from the printer... I have no idea where it came from and everything still seems to be working. Does anyone know what this could have been? It sounded ...

Nevermind... I'm stupid... you apparently have to hit the easy button and turn easy mode off. The manual does not mention this....

Manual gcode commands
I just finished building my rostock max v2 and i'm following the manual for calibration and it tells me to send a gcode command in the manual control window, but theres no option anywhere to type in gcode. I'm really confused... I'm looking everywhere in the program for this option and I dont see it...

Re: Aurora's Rostock Max v2 build
Also I just realized those weren't the wires I was dealing with lol... I was dealing with the thermistor wires. Cause the heater wires don't get a connector, they go right into the screw terminals. Once I realized that I figured they would be okay if they were missing a strand or two. What I ended u...

Alright... now I'm really stuck. I'm up to wiring the rambo board and putting the connectors on the various wires that have to plug into it. I can't get the little female pins on the 18ga wire. It's just way too big... the picture in the manual shows the wire being completely surrounded after it wa...

Re: Max v2 assembly - Getting the 22ga & 26ga wires in the t
Finally got those wires pulled through last night! I think that the comment about coiling those wires should be removed - to get the wires through the aluminum, I had to uncoil all of them and remove all the little bends. Also had to solder the 22ga wires to a steel guide wire and then stagger and ...

Re: Aurora's Rostock Max v2 build
So when I last left off with my official build progress posts, I was up to mounting the top. I had the top built in that last thread, now its time to mount it. It was a bit tricky to get all lined up, but it went on fairly easy. I pulled t...

Re: Aurora's Rostock Max v2 build
Ace Hardware or Home Depot have taps and handles that can get you fixed up tonight. About $4.00 for a tap and you can even use an adjustable wrench for a handle. Really? I thought you'd need like a drill press and a vice or something to make sure its straight... I've never tapped anything lol. Ther...

Well the replacement pulley never came... so I called support today and asked them whats up... It apparently didn't ship out until today. I'm pretty upset about this but there's nothing anyone can do. They told me I would get it in 3 days, but it took them 4 days to even ship it... Shit happens and ...

Re: Max v2 assembly - Getting the 22ga & 26ga wires in the t
There's a simple way to do this, and I hope Gene puts it in the manual. The #18 bundle is stiff enough that it is easy to push it through. If you are having trouble with it bunching up, stop and smooth it out. Now take the #22/#26 bundle and tape it end to end with the #18 bundle. Use a smooth wrap...

Re: Max v2 assembly - Getting the 22ga & 26ga wires in the t
So the wires are something I covered in detail in my build thread. The 18 was easy, the 22 was more difficult and I too had the same issue you did. They like to bunch up about a third of the way though. I ended up trying to snake it through too but failed. I even tried twisting all of the wires toge...

Yes the attractive smell is one of the perks to PLA ;) I'm sure someone in one of the new 'green' states or the Netherlands is working on 3d printing marijuana so I imagine the first 3d printed blunt to come out soon. How thick is that Dynamat stuff? It's pretty thin, but impressively good at reduc...

So tonight I made some more progress, mounted the top and got 2 of the belts on. I'm not going to do a fill update with pictures yet... I was hoping to get my replacement pulley today but it didn't come... Which means I can't mount the 3rd belt. Feeling discouraged, I stopped early tonight... I supp...
