Re: My edit of esbowman's v27 Tensioners
I know that this is an oldie, sorry to bring it up again. But I am interested in these tensioners for my V2. Just a question: The original V2 has a much more flexible design, and the sliders are intended to be fixated by the bolt. In this remake there is no possibility to adjust the axle-bolt anymo...

Re: Calibration Nightmare
OK, so I had a long troubleshooting session last night and I think I'm getting somewhere. This is what was happening every time. just a globby mess. BLOB.jpg I re-leveled again, and started the print. It failed of course, so i added 50 microns to my z-max and tried again. I did this about a dozen ti...

Re: Calibration Nightmare
Thanks for getting to me quickly. I'm gonna try to respond a s a check list to keep it simple. Pictures - There's not much to see, as I can't even get it to start a first layer. but ill get what i can when I get back to it. Settings - Filament settings were adjusted a lot to try and figure out the p...

Calibration Nightmare
I'm not even sure where to start. . . I bought my V2 years ago, and as with most people, went through the usual learning curve. I learned to manually calibrate and set it up (not a complex task i felt) and was printing decently with ABS. I had to babysit it a lot and had a print failure rate of abou...

Re: Cyclone seperator for my CNC
https://youtu.be/hgmlSSicKZ0?t=210 I saw this a few days ago. I would assume his spiral works because it physically deflects the dust, but the small spiral in the design above doesn't seem like it would be that effective is this situation. I'd be willing to bet that the spirals width is likely inver...

RMAX V2 spotted on CBS "Pure Genious"
Maybe this has been discussed already, so someone can delete this if that's the case, but i wanted to break the news if no one else had.

Re: 3D Printing to injection moulding
http://magicmaker.ca/#revo11 Not that I see anything wrong with their sales pitch, but it just bothers me that they are coming at it from the "3d printing led to this" angle. If I'm not mistaken (which i may very well be), rotocasting has been around much longer than 3d printing. I just h...

Re: Xnaron Printable Magnetic u-joint option for Rostock Max
Anybody using the new cheapskates with the mag arms? The holes to mount the magarm holders to the cheapskates are in the wrong places for the new cheapskates. I believe most of us just whipped up an adapter. I did this as well but moved to the new ball cup arms rather quickly. I may revisit the mag...

Re: PEI print bed surface experiments
You really don't need to cover 100% of it. Your plate is actually larger than 12" anyway, closer to 12.25" You also can't print all the way to the edges either. Yes it would be nice but its not completely necessary. Agreed. I centered mine and just lift the four lips uncovered. doesn't af...

Re: Rostock Max V2 with a few minor mods
I was using V27's before and while they worked well, I needed two Allen wrenches and three hands to adjust them. I felt the same about the V27s, which is why i used them as a base for a redesigned version of my own. I like Derek's design. My only problem is that it doesn't let you make fine adjustm...

Re: Help me name my blog!
Well considering you enjoy the artistic side so much, why not shoot for something pseudo high brow? Perhaps "Among Layers"? shortened to MHAL or MHAL3D for "mhackney among layers" or some such jazz. Perhaps some alliteration? depending on pronunciation, mhackney's extruded effica...

Re: PEI print bed surface experiments
I'm back. Finally ran a handful of prints, and my reactions are mixed, but positive. For starters, I'll say i don't miss glue sticks at all. Never having to worry about bed prep is awesome and even somewhat lazy feeling at first, lol. Adhesion was hit and miss at first, but i think i have it locked ...

Well Since we're in the spirit of giving, I'll throw out my effector as well. It Doesn't have any cool tricks up it's sleeve. just small light and full of mounting hole options. If i ever stop printing ABS i may do something different.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
I came back to say the same thing. I filed a very small bevel to the inside shoulder on both sides and it slid right in. It's definitely right this time as there is a significant difference in the height it sits at. After repeated removals it's definitely wearing away at those two Red/Blue lines the...

Has anyone who switched to the new arms mounted an led ring on the effector yet? I was going to put my TR ring on but it's blocked by the white arm ball things. Just wondering what others did.

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
Oh its definitely serviceable once the lock rings on. I highlighted the area in red. as it moves from the blue i think it's getting lower. it's subtle but if you hold the heat sink and wiggle it you can feel it dip in and out while riding the "hump" that im fairly sure is at the line where...

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
So i got mine in today. Looks great, love the blue. I do have one question. when i seat the v6 in the mount it rocks back and forth a bit like there is a hump along the surface of the flat. Is this part of the design or am i just imagining things?

So the seeme lock ring replaces the wood spacer? That makes since now that you say it. Thanks

Re: Aluminum and carbon fiber E3d V6 mount. RELEASED!
Just a quick question. If i were to pair the seemecnc hot end and yellow jacket, would i still need to get the seemecnc lock ring or will i just use the sock nut to hold it to the YJ and mount the board to the main piece?
