Re: Worth Upgrading?
Delrin vs Aluminum for the ball assemblies depends on your use. If you're going for maximum print speed, you want maximum stiffness in the motion system, which means going to the metal ball assemblies and carbon fiber arms. Is there a reason why someone would want to go with delrin instead of alumi...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
I'm running retracts at 25mm/sec and the retract length is 6.5mm. I'm printing at 60mm/sec with an infill speed of 100mm/sec. This is for my BOSSDelta 300 though. (it uses an SE300 hot end, so basically anything that uses the SE300 can use those speeds) I'm wondering if your retract speed and lengt...

5. 3 more metal ball joints for my cheapskates. Is there any reason why someone would select plastic?: https://www.seemecnc.com/collections/parts-accessories/products/machined-ball-joint-one-piece The Delrin ball joint parts were the first ones available, so they're still available. :) So go with t...

Re: Worth Upgrading?
I contacted HQ and asked if they could build me an upgrade kit for my shopping cart. They said there was no direct path from v2 to v5, so in short, no. My plan: 1. order a duet 3. My understanding is that they run the same, but the 3 is the future and can handle more current if needed: https://www.d...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
I have not had a chance to use the temperature probe or check the screws, but I have made some progress. I slowed the machine down from the stock 60mm/sec to 30 and turned off retraction in decent but stringy prints. The retraction speed default is 45 mm/sec. I got the printer up to 38mm/sec, rarely...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
The repeatable timing on the skipping is just *screaming* "heat creep" at me - you're absolutely positive the fan on the heatsink is running and blowing air AT the heatsink? Yes, it runs at 100% all the time. I can see it running, hear it running, and when not paying attention, felt it ru...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
You might want to give Atomic Filament a try. It's not the cheapest out there, but I feel it's worth the money for the quality. My Atomic filament came in yesterday. I just ran a print with it at 230c (210-230 recommended). I ensured I had good flow, cleaned the bed, and told it to start. I am stil...

1) I got another roll of gold silk PLA. This time from Overture and I'm back to having extrusion issues. Why is my old filament printing and the new filament having issues? 2) I'll take a look at the filament dryer. Do you think its possible to dry filament this old? 3) Skipping. Why was the old fil...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
If it's a *reliable* 20 minutes to failure, you're experiencing heat creep into the cold section of the hot end. This results in the filament swelling inside the cold section, and that will cause that particular dog to bark like mad. ;) Is the cooling fan on the cold section working properly? It is...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
I tried both of Gene's suggestions. I still get 20 minutes into a print and start having issues with a barking extruded and no filament. Since I feel like I've checked just about everything on this printer, I decided to check the one thing I hadn't, the extruder. I did not find any issues here, but ...

Re: Barking Extruder - Jams
I didn't know what to call my problem, but I figured you all would get the idea of my terminology. I agree with what you are saying about the reason. I am not lying to my computer about my nozzle size. I had a .8 installed and changed it with a new .4, then updated the system accordingly. The caveat...

Barking Extruder - Jams
A problem I've had for a long time is a Barking Extruder. It prints the first few layers fine, and then the extruder makes a weird noise which I think is from the extruder forcing more filament in the Bowden tube than it can handle. I was using some old filament (like five years old), and despite th...

Thank you. One less problem!
This also revived my screen as well. Apparently, I ran into this issue before without a solution my printer was left idle after running the clear eeprom code.
Resolved. Thank you.

Firmware not compiling (SOLVED)
I downloaded the latest everything and unpacked the files. I have an old V2 that I bought back in 2014. Then I started having some issues with it and couldn't ever get solid help. Just get a thermocouple and call it a day. You'll never break the leads, it's more accurate, and it'll go up to 1000C+ http://e3d-online.com/External-Thermocouple-Board-v1.0?search=thermocouple" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://e3d-online.com/Type-K-Thermocouple?search...

100k Thermistors types
Is it true i can use any 100k thermistor? if so, why not use the GP104L8F from DigiKey? it allows us to go to 300C instead of the stock 200C. it looks to be quite a bit smaller than the B57540G0104F000. am i looking at this right?
all help is appreciated.

Re: what i need to upgrade to a thermocouple ?
Is the " Type-K-Thermocouple " by E3D the same as AD8495? Do we need the Thermocouple Board as well? If so, do the first two pins go into the same place as the thermistor and the last wire connect to aux slot as noted above? Thank you for the help! No, yes, NO! and you're welcome. There i...

Re: Thermistor Fail
This isnt a constant issue. I have gone up to, but not exceeded 300C could that be the issue? Could be. The instructions tell you not to go above 295 or else you'll damage the thermistor. I don't know how strict that is, or how much wiggle room there is (if any). Ah. See on the v6 page it states &q...
