Re: Rostock Max V2 not heating up What to check?

Is the heating that slow with the bed not heating at all? If so, one of the heating resistors in the hot end may need to be replaced.

Re: Artemis extruder falling after print.

Remove the M84 from the end gcode in Cura (or whatever slicer you're using). M84 turns off the motors and will allow the effector to fall under its own weight.

You might want to ping [email protected] and see what they have to suggest. It's been too long since I've worked with an HE280 to much help, sorry!

Re: V3.2 problem

So the only thing I can think of at this point is the nozzle face isn't meeting the face of the heat break as it should. The heat break and the nozzle face should meet in the center of the heat block. The clogged heat break is confusing because that only happens if the "cold section" isn't...

Re: V3.2 problem

You can use a butane torch to burn out PLA. Acetone if ABS. No idea if PETG. :) Getting melted plastic in the heat break indicates to me that at some point, the heat sink on the fan wasn't running. When you put it back together, did you make sure the heat sink fan is blowing through the fins of the ...

Since you've got an E3Dv6, I'd go with the Duet Smart Effector.

Re: V3.2 problem

So before we get any further, when you say you "drilled out" the heat break - were you drilling through a solid chunk of plastic? You realize the heat break has a 2mm bore, right? If you used a drill bit like that to "clean" out the bore, you may have scarred it. You would have b...

Re: V3.2 problem

So it's probably a hot end jam. You may be printing too quickly for the temperature you're printing at or the filament diameter is wildly out of spec. Do a cold pull on the hot end and make sure you can see all the way through the filament path when you're done. (you should be able to see a little d...

Re: Max V2+ conversion to v3.2 or v4 - worth it? Options?

Going to the 0.9 steppers will have an impact on your top speed (mostly with rapid travel), but you win that back in positioning accuracy. You shouldn't need to change out the extruder stepper, but ask SeeMeCNC about it when you order parts. Inspect the belts - if they look clean and unworn, you sho...

Re: Max V2+ conversion to v3.2 or v4 - worth it? Options?

If you're already got the injection molded carriages and the ball/cup arms, I'd pull the trigger on the upgrade. I've upgraded a couple of v3s to 3.2s and it's very much worth it. If memory serves, there shouldn't be any soldering involved at all. The SE300 comes pre-assembled. All you need to do is...

Re: V3.2 problem

"according to software" doesn't tell me much. :) Is that the temperature shown in the web display of the printer, or the temp you set when you sliced the part? If the EZR is still turning and no filament is coming out, it's likely carved a notch in the filament - do you see that when you p...

Re: RostockMax V1 + noob + lots of issues and not sure where to even begin

Yeah, that's the original RAMBo board - that machine may be right after the Indiegogo campaign that SeeMeCNC ran. Make sure that the u-joints for the arms can easily spin on the shafts they sit on - they can gall over time and size up or drag. This can cause issues for you. The "cheapskates&quo...

Re: RostockMax V1 + noob + lots of issues and not sure where to even begin

I did a bit of digging and it appears that the machine you've got is earlier than I suspected. The firmware you want on that machine is Repetier-Firmware v0.91 (or thereabouts) You can find it here: https://github.com/seemecnc/RostockMAX/tree/master/FIRMWARE/Repetier. You'll need to use v1.6.0 of th...

Check to make sure that the connectors are properly seated in the SE300. Something might be coming loose. Also, by "fail", what exactly is happening?

Re: Rostock Max v1 (Indiegogo) Bed not flat

Check to make sure that the glass is flat and so is the heated bed itself.

No machines ever shipped with the Smoothieboard - that being said, you might want to ask the Smoothieboard guys if they've got an auto-calibration methodology for delta printers.

When you go into the EEPROM editor in MC, does it show the horizontal (delta?) radius field like I show in the docs?
