Re: Glowforge

I'll give you that...and I have to point out that I was pissed as well, when they went closed source. No offense, but this guy saw the right moment to sell 3D printers to hobbyist by telling everybody exciting stories and having a product which worked out of the box. And if it weren't for the big hy...

Re: Glowforge

The Tested channel on YouTube has a pretty good look at the Glowforge Yup, that's the way I first learned about the product. Although, it seems more to be a clever marketing video than an actual review of the product (like many Tested videos nowadays). All the fancy tech marketing slogans are being...

Re: Glowforge

Thanks guys for your two quite different opinions. I highly value them and decided for me not to go for a Glowforge (despite the shipping costs anyway). @Polygonhell: Yea, they probably haven't go to care about Europe with these insane sales. @Xenocrates: I had the same reservation about the air fil...

Re: Upgrading the Rambo (mod)

However, I have to warn you as until today, Repetier 0.91 has still two hiccups if set to 4 extruders. The problems are documented here and the issues have been reported to Marcus from Repetier: http://forum.e3d-online.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24&p=1899#p1899 Update: 05.01.2015 The issue has...

Re: Delta geometry off, tilting effector plate

Thank you all for your most valuable inputs! One last thing I have to check (again) is print surface warping. I don't use a metal plate between the heater plate and the glass yet. But I recognised, that after heating for about an hour, the "tilting" seems to be a bit less. What might be is...

Re: Delta geometry off, tilting effector plate

How are the water cooling lines for the Kraken routed?, when I routed mine to the side of them printer, it was enough force to twist the platform at the edges of the build area. One of the issues with delta geometry in general is that as the arms get closer to the edge of the build area, the resist...

Re: Upgrading the Rambo (mod)

I just implemented another solution for getting additional extruders for RAMBO. The solution is called Extrudrboard and is an original extension for the Printrboard controller. It's currently on sale on different online shops. So if anybody is interested, I'd recommend to hurry up, since I don't kno...

Delta geometry off, tilting effector plate

Hey everybody In order to get my Kraken extruder working properly, I am currently facing a problem with my printer geometry. After some email exchange with Michael, I think it's time to open up the discussion. I observe the end effector plate of the printer slightly tilting when I move it along the ...

Re: Direct drive / EZStruder with small nozzle diameters

Here are the V6 nozzle geometries according to E3D's drawings: http://files.e3d-online.com/v6/Drawings/V6-NOZZLE-175.pdf They do the last bit with a 1mm or 1.5mm drill. I don't know if this is to achieve a steeper overall angle than 60°. I myself will probably hand drill the bore lengths, since cpom...

Re: Direct drive / EZStruder with small nozzle diameters

I hear a lot of hype about direct drive extruders skipping and slipping, but I've not had that experience. I think the real problem here is steps per mm. If you've got a direct drive extruder, a small nozzle diameter, and a thin layer height, you're toeing the line on not extruding very smoothly be...

Direct drive / EZStruder with small nozzle diameters

On different forums people state that direct drive extruders are problematic with small nozzle diameters. Can anybody confirm or refute this? My Kraken has two 0.4mm, a 0.6mm as well as a 0.25mm nozzle. I got two EZStruders for the 0.4mm nozzles which work fine. The 0.6mm won't cause problems anyway...

Re: Upgrading the Rambo (mod)

I just had a look at your extension board and I have to say, it looks very impressive. Cudos on that! First I though I could work with it to easily create one for the 1.0 version of the Rambo. However, the pins seem to have a completely different layout on your board compared to mine. So I pretty mu...

Re: Upgrading the Rambo (mod)

Ah, here we go. Not exactly intuitive, but as long as repetier knows its Pins, all is good :) Honestly, I didn't have a glance at your design yet. Since I have a Rambo 1.0, I need two additional PWMs anyway (I use the spare one on the Rambo to control the cooling pump). But I'll give it a go when I ...

Re: Upgrading the Rambo (mod)

Kraken is installed and dual extrusion is working. Next will be extruder 3 and 4. However, can somebody point out which pins have to be selected for the Rambo? Following the pin assignment list on the RAMBO developer wiki, heater 3 should be pin2. However, in pins.h, 2 is already assigned for Temp_1...

I actually haven't gone any further yet than to sand the joints almost perfectly, lubing them, tightening the belts and setting KISS to 0.75 overlap. It's not a 100% perfect now but I'm close. I probably would have to sand a bit more, but I wasn't in the mood so far, as I was facing other problems, ...
