Re: Field & Stream video of my 3D Printed Fly Reel
Thanks folks. You could imagine that my email was ringing off the hook all day today! I've watched that video 10 times and I still can't believe that little reel handled those monster trout. I know I put a lot of effort into the design and testing but who whoulda thunk! cheers, Michael I just finis...

Witchcraft!
Every time I load up my spool of T-Glase something strange happens.
Looks like I need to get my E3D-V6 installed.

Re: Extruder having trouble reaching 230c
While I haven't done this to my Max V2 hotend yet, all of my other printers call for a ceramic tape type insulation on the heater block. http://store.quintessentialuniversalbuildingdevice.com/product.php?id_product=10" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It helps keep any draft o...

Re: Thermister broke loose... fix???? am i crazy?
Given the surgery you are going to have to perform, a threaded thermistor would be a good upgrade.
They are fairly simple to make if you have patience working with small parts. If not there are a few sources available around the web.
It just requires tapping the thermistor hole.

Re: Should I print this?
What kind of plastic are you using for the followers? I was considering printing some mags and stuff a while ago, but i don't have an ar-15... Any problems with cracking, delaminating, ect? I've made magazines in ABS, PLA, Nylon, and PET. The best followers I've had to date were the PLA. Best Resul...

I have everything built and ready to test for a melt, but I still cannot quite get enough confidence to get on with it.

Re: Rostockmax v2 First print shut down
This could be a cracked trace in the board shorting to the ground plane.Aehandasa wrote:Got it working - but strange solution - just un-tighten the 6 screws of the heat bed.
You could check it with a volt meter as it is, then torque it back down and see if a short is created.
Good Luck!

Re: Airwolf 3D's Wolfbite heatbed adhesive solution
I probably works fine but at $20 for 2oz, plus shipping, it is too steep for my budget. In terms that I can understand, I think that stuff per gallon would be $1280. That really puts things into perspective. Thinking back on how many ABS slurry jars I go through, it would be quite the expense to ad...

Re: How do I clean the hot-end?
With previous hotends, I picked up some blood sugar testing needles to clear the clogs in a .2 and .4 mm nozzle. I'm going to need to pickup a larger gauge for the .5 mm nozzle on my shiny new V2, but I have found them quite effective.

I installed this fan for my initial build based on a few of the posts recommending it. While I cannot confirm nor deny it's improvement over the original, I can say that it is a very quiet fan.

Re: Rostock v2 Head goes nutty during prints
Everything I can find is tight, I loctited them down during the build with perminent. Belts are are snug & in good shape (I can't make them skip a tooth by pulling them quickly), likewise all the skates seem to have the same tension as far as I can tell. Ya I've had some prints come out fantast...

Re: Man charged with 2 year sentence for 3d printing a firea
Food for thought for those that sell/rent machine time: It is a felony to produce and sell a firearm without an FFL. The ATF's designation of a firearm is as follows: The term “firearm” is defined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Section 921(a)(3), to include "(A) any weapon (including...

I had used silon wire, went trought tower. Attached wires taped on the end with silon, and then just went back up to tower binded on this silon leading wire... All 3 towers at 1st try. Agreed. I used household string. I didn't even have to cut any off the roll, so technically I didn't even "us...

Re: Quick and easy way to dislodge a finished print.
This is one of those things where everyone will have a little bit different trick up their sleeve. When I used window glass instead of boro, I had multiple plates and just rotated them between prints to let things air-cool and release on their own. This was also nice because you could hairspray the...

Good luck on the build. Contact SeeMeCNC Support about those cheapskates, you'll want to make sure they are good. The hole pattern on them for some reason is meant not square. They will send you replacement parts for free for anything that is messed up. Go through all you hardware also and double c...

Re: Printable Studios Rostock MAX V2 Build
Well after a few days, I'm almost complete with the mechanical assembly. The power supply mod was fairly straight forward. I stuck with the manual and decided not to remove the extra wires. I'm considering a Corsair power supply for the future, but given the increase in size from the original I figu...

Just got the shipping information for my kit. The countdown has officially started until it arrives. In the mean time I am preparing the various things I'll need to complete the build. Howdy from the Sunshine State
Howdy Everyone! I just picked up a Rostock Max V2 kit to expand my printing capabilities beyond the 200x200 mm space. I'm looking forward to being a part of the community and sharing in the 3D printing experience. As software engineer by trade, I stumbled upon 3D printing as a way to flex my creativ...
