Did you configure your slicer to account for a .8mm nozzle and a reasonable layer height? This looks like typical filament starving. With a nozzle that large, extrusion speed too high could also cause a problem. What happens when you slow printing down to 20mm/s? Yes the slicer is accounting for an ...

With PLA it could be extruder drive motor getting hot and softening the PLA, limiting extrusion. Also might be the issues some seem to have putting PLA through a v6. Check that the hot end was assembled per instructions and retraction is short and slow. I use 2mm and 10mm/s on my v6. Good point. My ...

Between the layers is space. Here is what we've done to try and correct the problem. We've made sure the printer's calibrated, nozzle is not clogged, rerun the PID loops, played with extrusion width, cleared the hobbed gear. We did find the PTFE connector was bent. Replaced that and it's still ...

Great potential. I like the way this group thinks.
One thing to keep in mind most thermistors go up to 300°C. Beyond that you'll be switching to a thermocouple. I not sure what other changes that would entail but I'm sure someone on here is better versed in this area.

Thank you for your tips, it was running much too hot and as a result was over extruding. Turned it down to about 195 and it seems to be doing much better. We have moved to the FE PLA, and it seems to be printing great. The front seems to be not sticking but I think we just need to recalibrate some ...

Under the glass is actually aluminum foil. It was initally used for a large print that was pulling up the foil helped spread the heat more evenly. This works fine until I get around to ordering a silicone wafer.KAS wrote:Is that tinfoil under your glass?

She hums along with the following settings for ABS. I agree with ABS being able to handle faster speeds. We have had prints into the low 120mm/s in ABS. PLA on the other hand, at least this filament, has a much different adhesion profile. It takes loner to "set" when cornering. It will not stick on ...

Wow this printed very well. Have been working with ABS primarily on a Volcano 0.8mm and decided to try 1.2 in PLA. The results have been less than good. The globs look like its too tight to the bed. Try backing off the bed a bit. Also would turn up the heat to at least 235C If your using thin copy paper try this. See if it moves and then remove the paper and try to put it back under. If you can't get the paper back under the nozzle its too tight. It ...
