Clever do you have a link to the gear motor supplier ? the model you cite does not come up in an eBay search. Unfortunetly I cant seem to find the specs online for this motor. I will search some more when I get home and post the number as well as give a possible link to purchase it. I remember seei...

With that said, I have access to basicaly a hoped up model B+ and a PI3 B+ Anyone have a slice time experience with this type of hardware? I am a bit curious. I don't necessarily need a exact sli...

3d Printed hacksaw
I wanted a good way to cut steel precisely for my next project (home built CNC router). I was looking at chop saws and looking at power hacksaws. Nothing seem viable to me price wise. Nor did it have my flair. I decided to build my own saw. Here is the youmagine stl's. https://www.youmagine.com/desi...

Re: High Speed Tune with PLA
She hums along with the following settings for ABS. I agree with ABS being able to handle faster speeds. We have had prints into the low 120mm/s in ABS. PLA on the other hand, at least this filament, has a much different adhesion profile. It takes loner to "set" when cornering. It will no...

It certainly does look like tin foil. I guess its a makeshift heat spreader.

Re: High Speed Tune with PLA
I have a feeling you can probably go much faster. The arms on my printer are ~330mm hole to hole, she hums along with the following settings for ABS. 100mm/s outside perimeter/skin 130mm/s infill 70mm/s bottom layer. (Any slower and it globs and clogs) 240c hot end, 100c bed/ 50c heated chamber. My ...

DIY Horn Speakers
I decided to build some DIY horn speakers. They are still under development as I have to tweak a few things, however they came out pretty good looking. I am using 50mm drivers ~2inch. 5w total power to them. Here is my blog post about it. http://engineerd3d.ddns.net/horney-speakers/" onclick=&q...

For some reason I don't get the e-mail alerts from this forum. The heater is certainly the 12v automotive heater. Mine looks exactly like the one posted. http://www.amazon.com/Roadpro-12V-Heater-Swing-out-Handle/dp/B000IXTGHW/ref=sr_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1438111640&sr=1-7&keyw...

There has to be a cheaper alternative. I am investigating making my own filament with metal impregnation in it at different ratios for different purposes. I would love to make iron filament for example.

Tungsten filament review.
I got a sample of tungsten infused filament from makergeeks.com and I figured I would do a review. I did not want to waste the filament so I built what I have been meaning to build for a while, a weight to hold down records for my ancient record player. As always I did a video review. Re: Restoring an old Phonograph 3d Printed replacement parts
Yes the originals were rubber. The new ones are ABS, however playing the record player has shown no descernable vibration noises are added. No vibrations are felt through the metal table either. I think that is due to mass mostly. The table is actually fairly heavy for its size being made of steel, ...

Restoring an old Phonograph 3d Printed replacement parts.
I picked up an old phonograph recently and being that it is at least 50 years old (probably 60+) it had some dry rotted parts. I used the 3d printer to make some replacement parts. Check her out. Man I wish I could contact the owner of that design. I was looking at designing my own 3d printable speakers, but these look fantastic and would fit right in with what I need for my audio setup. Not looking for allot of power just a good design with a tube amp. Missed opportunity.

Re: 3D Laser scanner DIY.
The software runs standalone. The above pic is what I can get from the scanner so far. Still tweaking. As for the build time? I didnt keep very acurate track. Around 24hours of print time, and probably around 2-3 hours for design. The scanner is based on this design, http://www.freelss.org/" on...

3D Laser scanner DIY.
I built a 3D laser scanner. As of now its functioning, it does need some tweaks but not too bad honestly. This thing is one part BQ scanner, one part Atlas 3D scanner, and one part self designed. This is one of the first respectable scans I got out of the thing. Scanned_DEA.jpg This is the actual sc...
