I removed the acrylic panel on the side of the enclosure and aimed a small fan directly at the rambo board - problem solved.

Yes, Sorry I should have provided that information in my original message. Using the SD card exhibits the same mid-print freeze-up problem.

Rostock Max stops during print "Cannot connect to printer"

Any ideas or similar experiences to share? The problem I am seeing is that the printer stops mid-print. If I try the same file it stops at various stages and never in the same place. Mattercontrol says it has stopped working and if I restart it cannot connect to the printer. A restart is required to...

My Rostock max is a workhorse

I work 9 hour days but whn I get home my Rostaock max is printing its ass off. Evenings, weekends, and the occasional overnight build. I have acquired an enormous wargaming army, ony of a fraction of it shown here: https://www.thingiverse.com/BeilmanDesign/makes" onclick="window.open(this....

I think I am asking too much from my Max 2. I drew the body in solidworks so it is a viable stl file. ABS, 2mm layer height.

Re: Rostock Max V2 Shutting Down on Heatup UPDATE

I had to finally purchase a more powerful power supply: http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/cx-series-cx750m-modular-atx-power-supply-750-watt-80-plus-bronze-certified-modular-psu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is able to supply 62amps to the +12V. Once installed (had to mount ...

Re: Rostock max v2 en france

thanks. what about the weird z-axis behaviour, impossible to calibrate outside the triangle made by the towers ? I know it exists but it hasn't been an issue for me. There is strong support on the user forums which is a definite plus for this machine. There is a topic on the Z-axis issue. Have a lo...

Yes. It is very easy to mount the E3D V6. It is an excellent choice for use with the Rostock Max V2. Use the online assembly instructions at the E3D website.

Yup a brim, or if you are using mattercontrol use a raft. It works magic on my problem parts. Read this: https://www.matterhackers.com/articles/ ... ith-a-raft" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: CAN'T GET RIGHT

When I see a model on thingverse and it does not have a photo of an actual completed part I am wary of it. I have tried my share of these with not much luck. Many have had build issues or I just could not get them to build. There is a low poly version here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:319413&qu...

You certainly can. It looks like you can buy the printed parts for $40 at their store but make 'em yourself.

Re: Greetings from Maryland

I will buy a new soldering iron for the project. is it best to use thin solder like 0.3 or 0.6 mm for the connections? I used a 40 watt soldering iron and 22ga solder successfully for all connections with my recent build. Good luck & keep the questions coming. The guys here were a fantastic ass...

Re: Hey All! Just introducing myself!

I forgot to mention I'm printing on a RS Max v2. So my question is though using Repetier Host the default bed size is 150x150. What is the true bed size, or most commonly used for the largest bed size? I just completed my Max about 3 weeks ago and had the same question. I use 280 X 280. Great work ...

PLA melting at EZStruder ? Cool it!

My EZstruder stepper was getting so hot it heated the hobbed gear and caused the PLA to become so soft it could not feed itself. This caused several jams. Pla meltdown 2.jpg I added a heat sink (with Artic Silver polysynthetic thermal compound - used for pc cpu's) & 5 volt fan to cool things dow...

What is the bed size for Rostock Max 2

Since mattercontrol updated to 1.2.1 file I create in Solidworks are not coming in to scale. I noticed the bed size is 150 x 150 with a build height of 350 (& circular bed). What do you gents using mattercontrol have as a bed size?

Help Needed: Arm Z height calibration

I just now calibrated my z height in the middle of the bed. The manual (page 239) is telling me to: Click the “Home All” icon on the Movement Controls and then stick a sheet of paper under the nozzle, just like you did when setting the Z height. Approach the zero point 1mm at a time by clicking on t...

If you cut your main atx connector off be sure that you connect the brown wire to any orange wire. It is needed to prevent the issue I noticed in the 1st line above. JJ at SeeMeCNC alerted me to this and now all is well.
