Re: How/where to sell

With all the extra stuff I listed it was $500. Went to a theatrical scene shop to print out miniature scenic elements for building models of proposed sets.

Re: How/where to sell

Mine is sold. Easier than I had feared.

The new printer is running really well, just printed some polycarbonate with it.

Re: Rostock Max v2 with extras

Almost forgot, this has low mileage on it. Most of the printing is done on our two existing Cartesian printers, they have around 10,000 print hours on the. Around 135kg of filament just for one product line! Polymaker likes us. :)

Rostock Max v2 with extras

Due to the types of things we print, we bought a wide format Cartesian printer and are selling our delta. I don't have pictures yet, but can provide them if needed. Local pickup is preferred so I don't have to figure how to pack this thing. I also don't know what these are selling for now, even if y...

How/where to sell

We've decided to sell our Rostock Max v2 due to the types of things we print. Where would be the best place to list it? I didn't see a "for sale" section here but may have missed it.

Re: Polyplus PLA

Since the retract was already at the default 8.5mm I slowed it down to half speed and also changed the nozzle size to 0.45mm. There's still a few strings but MUCH better. I just printed a test sample at more like a normal temperature and will test it for water tightness tomorrow (easy test for holes...

Re: Polyplus PLA

Thanks, I'll try that. I seem to be cursed with strings on this printer and haven't had time to sort out the settings. The Afinia has zero strings but of course all their settings are secret and not changeable.

Polyplus PLA

I've been using Afinia Premium PLA on my Afinia printer (the only stuff that doesn't jam) but their quality has has declined (returned several spools this year so far) and they just discontinued a color so I've been looking for something that I could use on both printers. It turns out the Polyplus P...

Re: On the plus side, REALLY good first-layer adhesion...

Well, I just had my glass plate pop off a chip. The odd thing is I wasn't super-glueing things down. Elmer's blue glue stick dissolved in water and painted on with a foam brush. Stuff sticks but not STICKS. This time, after the plate cooled down I picked up the part I had printed and my wife asked w...

Re: Waiting for delivery

Just wanted to drop in and say I was still alive. This Apple accessory project is whacking me. The mechanical engineer for the fabrication company that produces lots of Apple stuff screwed up the drawings so an iPAD doesn't actually fit. Also when we had the parts 3D printed they fell apart from bei...

Re: Vertical Banding Revisited

I was just at the [big 3D printer sales/service company] today which is about an hour's drive from here. I had a medium long chat with with one of their tech guys who runs the machines about the banding. I pointed out the banding on the Polyjet print we got from them as well as one of the big prints...

That's some motor under the hood of your printer, how fast do those delta arms move, anyway!

As another sample from a crazy expensive printer, this was just printed on a PolyJet printer. High resolution print and still has bands.

Re: Wireless Printing

I have a laptop on a shelf tied into two 3D printers by USB. One printer is via a 30 foot USB booster cable that runs up, along the shelf, over a door, then over to the printer.

The laptop connect to our network with WiFi and I use UltraVNC to talk to it.

Re: Thruster motor for underwater AUV/ROV

A couple of ways we leak-tested in the MIL-SPEC business: 1) Place electronic part in a tank of hot FC-48 (high-temp fluorocarbon) and look for bubbles. Doesn't bother the electronics, actually cleans the board. 2) Place in chamber and pressurize with helium. Pause. Pump out helium, purge, and then ...

Could the motors have been damaged in shipping. I've gotten a couple of boxes of motors from China and one box had obviously been opened for inspection and repacked...wrong. One of the motors looked perfect but barely turns.

Re: Laugh of the day

I was over at the local 3D printer supply picking more filament and the owner happened to be there. Thanked me again for buying so much filament, then showed me a picture of a huge delta printer he'd just seen at a trade show. Wow, who would have though it? :) :) So, I wonder who made that giant pri...
