Same GCODE file. No question - the banding is entirely due to the delta segmentation. I can die happy now.
Wow... That's compelling.

Re: Upgrading the HotEnd: Prometheus vs. E3D vs. ???

One thing that's worth considering if your goal is "upgrades" is: if you're planning to print large or strong objects (brackets, etc), then a larger nozzle size and heat block will change your whole approach to 3D design. That was the biggest thing that I noticed about trying the E3D Volca...

I think it was teoman's advice to put bullet connectors on the bed cables, so you can still remove either the bed or the RAMBo? That worked out well for me.

Re: Just can't get these prints to stick...

I frequently run into the same problem with corners pulling up on medium-large, solid pieces. There's definitely a high-risk point in the print, where it's maybe 3/8" thick, and the top layers are significantly cooler than the bottom of the piece that's being heated by the bed. Thermal contract...

Thanks! Glad that people like it!

Yes, please use this however you'd like. I should make a version based on an Arduino instead of the LPC board. That would probably be a lot more friendly for most people to put together.

Re: teaser alert

Actuall on-topic, the Eris looks awesome. I do wish there was a kit option. A friend wants a printer that takes up less space than the Rostock, and an Eris-sized delta kit would fit that bill pretty well. (The only small delta kit I'm aware of is a mini kossel.)

Print Head Crash/Layer Shift (travel speed too high)

Here's a nice ball of PLA fluff from a fail, maybe 16 hours into a 40 hour print. This one is pretty easy to explain. The head collided with the print, causing horizontal layer shifts and eventually complete failure. Here's a closeup of succ...

Re: Upgrades to start out?

I'm very fond of my carbon fiber arms, but they were replacing the plastic arms on a rostock max V1, so I can't comment on the stiffness of the newer V2 arms. Also, modding the extruder to work with a geared motor is a must if you're switching to an all metal hotend, you'll need the extra torque. T...

Re: New Rostock MAX V2 prints 5% small in X and Y

It IS clear in the instructions - if you're using the version of the manual that matches the revision of the kit you have. :) If you've got the u-joint arms, you should be using the 3rd Ed. If you have the ball-joint arms AND the new power supply, you should be using the 4th. I was trying to help r...

Re: Does anyone know where...

There's a BOM for the RAMBo on their github. I've replaced components on it (in Alaska) and they're all on Digikey/Mouser/etc, so shipping to Canada shouldn't be bad. RAMBo github The schematic pdf lists that as part MSTBA6, the BOM says that's: "6 pin fixed terminal block;Molex;39532-1006"...

I finally found some limonene in the organic section of the grocery store! It worked great to dissolve the HIPS filament, but is pretty expensive. (Just over $1/oz.) Here's a picture of the cube in a cube in a cube with the supports finally removed: [img]http://gchristopher.net/3dprinting/cube_cube_...

Re: Delta vs Cartesian

One underrated advantage of the Max is the quality of the instruction manual. A developer friend described the manual as "the best piece of open-source work I've ever seen." Two main disadvantages of a delta are that it requires a Bowden tube (which has never created a problem for me becau...

Re: Will the real owners of E3D and Prometheus please stand

I've put about 2km (wow!) of filament through E3D V6 and Volcano hot ends and the only jam was my own fault for over-retracting PLA because I didn't RTFM.

The speedup from the larger nozzles is pretty astonishing.

I just tried downloading fresh copies of arduino (1.6.5) and the seemecnc github repetier 0.91 project, last updated August 7.

It compiled for me on windows 7. Could you try checking your board settings in arduino under Tools-Board>? The target should be the Arduino Mega 2560.

Hi Behold. Are you downloading from SeeMeCNC or the Repetier pages? What version are you using? Maybe post the link so someone can reproduce your problem?

What OS and version are you using? What version of the Arduino IDE do you have?
