Re: New skates and arms calibration issues
Are you heating the build plate to a typical value, like 60 or 90 degrees C? Looking at your graph, it seems like your bed is bent, or slanted slightly. I'm not sure there is a way to account for this in firmware, but if you run MatterControl's automatic calibration it reads the height at multiple p...

Re: Slic3r Prints Never Start...
Just to check, I plugged my printer's usb cable into the computer running MatterControl, and the same thing happened if I just tried hitting "Print". I know it takes much longer to slice using Slic3r, but I can tell when this happens because I can manually set the temperatures using the Co...

Slic3r Prints Never Start...
I've been using MatterEngine in MatterControl to slice my files for my Rostock Max V2, successfully. I've started playing with new filaments, and I wanted to try the herbertcurve infill pattern. The only problem is, when I export the Gcode to my SD Card, then plug the SD Card into the Rostock Max V2...

Re: Cheapskate U-Joint Carriage CAD Files?
Sweet, thanks! I tried eyeballing the distance after a pair of calipers I had wouldnt bend far enough to take the measurement, and got 50 and 65, and had to trim some of the plastic on my effectors away. I'll be using this as a guide from now on, do you have the diameters of the holes btw?

Print bed not keeping temperature after E3d V6 install
Hi all! I recently installed an E6d V6 extruder, and my first couple prints came out ok, but I noticed my bed temperature was oscillating by +-2 degrees around 85 degrees. I tried a larger print with the bed set to 105, but the bed got to 95, then dropped to 85, and is now bouncing between the two. ...

Re: PEI print bed surface experiments
PEI Is in place, I purchased from McMaster Carr the 12x24 sheet and it is thin. The z adjustment made a small dimple and there is an air bubble by an edge. I looked at the order form and it is .003" not the .03" on Amazon. Prints stay down well, but I don't know how long the thin sheet wi...

Re: Binding Delta Arms with elastic bands
I tried doing this with some cable ties, but ran into the problem above where I tightened them too much and ended up effectively shortening my arms, throwing the XY scaling off and making my parts look bad.

Trick for getting ABS off of PEI
Hi guys! After reading about the trouble a lot of people have about getting print off of PEI, I wanted to share a trick I discovered while puzzling it myself. All you need is a pair of diagonal flush cutters, which most electronics folk use for cutting component leads after soldering. All you do is ...

Cheapskate U-Joint Carriage CAD Files?
Hi all, I'm trying to create a set of carriage mounts for a custom arm solution for my printer, and I'd like it to mate with the existing cheapskates. The only problem is I can't find the CAD files to esure I get the correct geometry for my MAX V2! I tried importing the Orion files, but they all giv...

Re: E3d V6 + Traxxas Ball Joints Effector?
I decided to solve my own problem and made an effector for my purposes, grabbing the best features from all the different effectors I've seen. I'll create a set of carriages soon, but does anyone know about the critical dimensions I'll have to change in my Rostock's EEPROM after switching out the ef...

Re: E3d V6 + Traxxas Ball Joints Effector?
Quite the appropriate signature! I got the arms, and was trying to find an STL for the effector, but my slicer seems to have done a great job messing it up (strange top/bottoms, support in random places, etc). Also the carriage mounts are nowhere to be found...

E3d V6 + Traxxas Ball Joints Effector?
Hi guys, After trawling thingiverse and numerous other STL aggregators, I can't seem to find an effector platform with carriage mounts for the cheapskate for traxxas ball ends. It seems to be the complete opposite of what I experienced when searching for magnetic ball joints, now I'm finding tons of...

Re: Kit to upgrade Rostock Max V2 to MAX SETTINGS!!! (?)
Just got the pre-made arms in, and measured them up to make sure they're all equal length. But... the ball ends don't fit over the Rostock's arm pins, doh! Since I got the E3d V6 kit also, I'll be swapping out the effector mount and putting new 'pins' (M3 threaded rod right?) in the carriage arms, I...

Re: Little nubblies coming out from places where printer see
Thanks, I'll start with raising the speed of retraction. I'm running ABS for now, just getting a feel for it before i move onto PLA. I checked in matter control, and it says my length is set to 8mm and speed is 110mm/s. i guess my ABS is extra oozey, so I'll try raising those already seemingly high ...

Little nubblies coming out from places where printer seeks
Hi guys! I'm trying to get my filament settings perfect, and I was wondering which parameter I would have to change to get these little anomalies from appearing in my prints. By watching the printer, I gathered that these occur whenever the printer finishes a segment and seeks over to another part o...

I realized also after putting the machine together completely..... the hole for the filament is on the wrong side! hahahaha... Hi everyone! I didn't save the picture however... After searching for a couple of hours, I couldn't fi...

Hot End smoking a tiny amount?

Re: Official Doc v2 Assembly Guide, Fig 4-4 and 4-5 wrong
Just had to undo the entire top plate because i threaded the wrong axes through the wrong holes in the top (x through y, y thru z, etc) i wish there had been some text saying that the orientation made a difference.... I realized 4-4 and 4-5 don't show the side that is closest to you when assembling ...
