You don't need the LCD to get started... Just use the USB connection and print from a PC to get your feet wet. You have an older Rambo board with 1/8th stepping. sometimes its just about repetition.... once you set up a toggle clamp clap press, it may take a couple of times to hit dimension. But once you do it will be repeatable... I've had a couple of JST connectors fail where the pins pop out. This is with premade pigtails and self made crimps.

I ordered some of the 2 pin connectors for the next build. They seem fairly robust without being too bulky.

I'm not certain anything smaller than a 20 tooth will fit without the belts rubbing inside the extrusion. It's a close fit. Yes it was indeed a very close fit, have got to get the gear centered just right. I ran the belt by hand and could not feel any rubbing, so I guess 16T is probably the smalles...
