Inconsistent bumpiness
I've been printing a lot of the same item lately. The outside is a scalloped edge. Sometimes the layers print quite smoothly, but sometimes they have odd bumps around the edge. Sometimes the first several layers will be smooth, but the last several will be bumpy. I've attached pictures of all 3 case...

Re: New carriages are available!
I changed the carriage width, but it did not help my problem. With all three towers and the center at 0 +/- .03 mm, the head was .37 mm (+/- 0.02 mm) above the plate at each spot between the towers, but now it is 0.25 mm above the plate between two sets of towers and 0.5 mm above the plate between t...

Re: New carriages are available!
I measured the cheapskates on the V1 at my husbands work and the injection molded cartridges and found the axle to be about 11mm closer to the axis than the cheapskates. I can't find carriage offset in the EEPROM setting though - is there somewhere else to change it? ETA: glad my measurement more or...

Re: Need advice on my support and raft settings
For the raft there is a setting in matter control you can change called 'air gap'. It basically defines a small distance between the raft and your part - too small, and the part is difficult to remove; too big and the part won't stick to the raft. I think I read somewhere that you should start with ...

Re: New carriages are available!
I would say the diagonal rod is the same 269mm although the carriage offset might have changed. That makes much more since - I wasn't sure how the diagonal arm was calculated/measured and didn't realize there was a separate carriage offset. I was really trying to get at the idea that the carriages ...

Re: Delta Automatic Calibration Tool - For Repetier Firmware
This was super helpful in leveling my first layer for large surfaces - thanks! I've read through most of this string, and it seems like you're going more towards an automated system than the g code direct entering, but since I'm running with pretty basic tools I have a couple comments about running ...

Re: New carriages are available!
What are the chances the new carriages result in a longer diagonal rod than the old cheapskates? After trying to print some larger prints, I noticed my bed was consistently too far from the nozzle between the towers. I found the calibration tool here from RollieRowland: https://github.com/RollieRowl...

Hello from Texas!
Husband and I bought a Rostock max V2 for our anniversary and put it together last weekend. We're both engineering graduate students planning to defend by the end of the year and working on figuring out what to do next. Husband helped build a V1 at work a while back, and we've been really pleased wi...

Re: New carriages are available!
I've tinkered some with the old cheapskates on a v1 printer at my husband's work, but we also bought a v2 which came with the new cartridges and put it together last weekend. The new carriages were a dream to install. Has been printing great!

Re: [25Jul15] Rostock MAX v2 3rd Edition Manual!
Husband and I built our Rostock MAX v2 this weekend - almost done printing the second fan shroud! Super excited about the printer and print quality so far, but had a few comments about the manual I wanted to share: I believe the parts list for the new drive carriages needs to be changed. The manual ...
