Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

What have you guys found to be the best E3D / MAX settings for T-Glase? I'm having a heck of a time on the retraction and getting it to lay down properly with a .4mm E3D (I know it should be bigger for the full T-Glase effect).

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

Mhackney, this is great info as I'm still working to tune my E3D-v5. Are you doing all these tests with ABS?

Thanks

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

The settings worked good, I needed to change a few things. I tried it at .1mm layer height but that's didn't work out so well. It wasn't add smooth as the .2mm.

The retract lift was good at .3.

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

That helps a bunch, we are pretty close on everything but the advanced settings. Before you posted I changed a few of them to 150-200% and this made a good difference but I'm still looking to get better. I'll plug your numbers in as soon as this current print finishes. Is there any reason you go wit...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend

I have the E3D V5 but I wanted to check and see if anyone could provide their slic3r settings for this hotend running a .4mm nozzle. I am looking for the layer heights and the Advanced / Extrusion Widths. I am running into a few issues where it sometimes feels like I'm over extruding and the nozzle ...

Re: E-3D v5 for ORION

I posted this question in the mods and upgrade board but I wanted to try and get everyone here's thoughts. Fan issue: I have tried the Guanu Blower Fan Holder Shroud and that worked great with the stock unit but that is not working for the E3D since the carriage is much closer to the bed. I have san...

Re: ORION Upgrades

Hey great work. I wanted to see what shroud you used for the part fan. I have tried the Guanu Blower Fan Holder Shroud and that worked great with the stock unit but that is not working for the E3D since the carriage is much closer to the bed.

Thanks

Re: My OctoPi setup for MAX

I'm in the process of setting this but had a concern / question. Is there any print quality / speed issue with lowering the serial connection speed of the printer? I know that most of the time it's best to print off the SD card, but you loose all the Repetier / OctoPi functionality. I also understan...

Re: Repetier Rambo / LCD configuration question

So as it turns out, the encoder/beeper/sdcard are all working. The lcd is just putting anything up to it. After looking at the schematics, I'm sure that the exp1 and exp2 are correctly hooked up. I'm starting to wondering if it's something specific with my lcd, it's brand new out of the box as of se...

Repetier Rambo / LCD configuration question

I'm trying to upgrade my LCD to the reprapdiscount full graphic smart controller. I'm having a few issues and I wanted to try and get the communities help. I've tried a bunch of things and started over with fresh configs so that I don't get to far off track. First thing was changing the FEATURE_CONT...

Re: T-Glase Troubles

I understand this, please look at the last 3 posts. I have been printing at 7mm/s and then I have to cut that in half on the LCD.

I am nowhere near 25-35mm/s, I have attached a picture to push the troubleshooting past the speed issue.

Re: T-Glase Troubles

The object in the picture is using a layer height of .3mm and the nozzle is the default .5mm. With the EZstruder slipping at 7mm/s until I turn down the print speed on the LCD to about 50-60%, it seems like there is to much back pressure causing the slippage. I'm not sure if this is the case or not ...

Re: T-Glase Troubles

Here are a couple of pictures of an object after it cooled and I played with it. I will take pictures of a fresh object. I did some of the pulling apart on these pictures but most of the splitting was done during the print. This one was printed at 7mm/s, any faster and it either won't print properly...

Re: T-Glase Troubles

I'll try and upload some photos soon. Latest print .3mm @ 222 and 10mm/s is the best I can do. I do have a fan on and the fan turns on to around 50-100 percent based on print time. The .3mm is looking better and stronger bonds between layers. It does not look like I'm able to print any faster though.

Re: T-Glase Troubles

I'm having some trouble with being able to pull apart each layer pretty easily once the print is done and cooled. I'm printing very slow at around 14mm/s @ 218 (have tried as low as 212 and as high as 222). I have a .5 nozzle but have not tried putting it to a .6 nozzle in the software. I am current...

Re: Z hieght

Holy1, there is no autoleveling feature yet. The firmware does support it but there is no feedback mechanism.

Here is a good project to look at by 626Pilot: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:161753" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Enjoy it's a great 3D printer!
