Re: My machines
I was the only IT person on an island with a winter population of 10,000 and summer 30,000.. It was my part time job when my flying job was only about 30 hours a week and I have to say I learned why phone support folks always asked "are you sure it is plugged in?" some of the problems bogg...

Re: Low Mass Extruder driving thoughts
The end game goal is to keep mass at the effector (note not weight) as low as we can to get the speed as high as we can get it for a filament deposition printer. Jim that idea of using 2 steppers is intriguing how fare have your friends gotten with it> If we can do that and keep up the needed extrus...

Re: Lets talk Duet Controller v0.8.5 VS SmoothieBoard and LCD Screens On Max Metal Builds
My problem is that i have my v2 doing what i need it to do (Mostly I use it to print pieces that let me mount oddly shaped castings of Iron and bronze and Al into the kurt vise on my Bridgeport for milling) and the thought of taking it all apart to fit the duet and the DC42 software and then have to...

Clever but the filament I have bought from SeeMeCNC and Talman has been very consistent throughout each reel.... spending that much to save $5 on a cheap spool of plastic with variable diameter seems rather strange.

Barry any large concrete outfit should be able to tell you where the big sizes can be found and might even give you off cuts for free or very little the use of the big ones don't require the full 12 feet every time every job say they have a job that needs say 4 2foot lengths for slab pads for point ...

I bet if you hung that on the wall in a frame and gave it an arty farty title like
"Ladder Green #42"
you could get a good price for it.
my failed prints are never that interesting.
What was it supposed to be?

Looks great. when the gang at SeeMeCNC selected and created this PEEK fan shroud as the first thing you print it was a stroke of genius . The part is complex but designed to slice well with MC and pulling it off the plate is a fantastic boost to the feel good factor involved in putting together what...
