Re: HE280 Hot End and Probe board on RMAX v2
On my v2 I used the new pre-made harness to platform and spliced into existing wiring up top, then was able to re-arrange existing wires down at rambo. I used a wiring block up top from Yellow Jacket Concepts to make it super easy... http://www.themakerhive.com/shop/viewitem.php?productid=25 No sol...

Re: HE280 Hot End and Probe board on RMAX v2
well I'm a dumbass, there is already an instruction set for the upgrade Will probably just splice since I bought the wire but could cannibalize it for the connecters as well, will see.

Re: HE280 Hot End and Probe board on RMAX v2
I picked up the HE280 for my Max v2. The instructions show an m3 screw and washer holding the thermistor in the he280. Was wondering if just using a threaded thermistor in that hole would be okay, its further out on the block so did not know if that would be an issue or not for accuracy. Shouldn't ...

Re: HE280 Hot End and Probe board on RMAX v2
That is looking sweet! I will definitely be ordering a full setup for the HE280. Just got to decide on color :P Couple of questions on the hotend. Any issues with just using an m3 threaded thermistor in the far hole? I modded my original hot end to use the threaded one so I would just get another o...

Re: Motor Current
Not sure there is a chart. To be the most accurate you would probably have to hook up a meter and test. There are two references in the firmware but not sure if that helps you or not. (RAMBO 135 = ~0.75A, 185 = ~1A) Also, Cut / paste of Rambo stepper info if you want to do math. The current for the ...

Re: Issue with slicer creating gaps in wall
You are not kidding I remember it being a pain, but somehow I tamed it and got some decent prints. Thanks again for the suggestion, it does handle the thin walls better than any of the other slicers I tried.

Re: MC1.5 Strange Object Location
Wish I would have seen this sooner. Ran into this a long time ago and just had to remember how to do it. It is an issue with Slic3r and the 1.5 matter control if I remember correctly. Anyway short story it thinks you are starting at X100 Y100. Just export the Gcode and modify your first G92 E0 line ...

Thanks geneb, will give it a try. I want to say I tried using the slic3r option in MC but may have to go back, don't know how many different models/options I have tried at this point :p

Issue with slicer creating gaps in wall
Hey! I have been trying to help a friend out with printing cookie cutters and have been having a hard time getting a very thin (single loop) rim on the cutting edge. Basically I created a model, set the width to .55 at the very top (same as width in KiSSlicer) and when I slice there are a bunch of g...

Re: Super stringy prints on newly assembled Rostock MAX
This is the guide I used for dialing it in, it really helped to see the difference when changing settings. https://www.matterhackers.com/articles/retraction-just-say-no-to-oozing That said your last picture doesn't look too bad. Aside from that link you could also try heating to 160 and manually ext...

Re: Rostock Max V2 ultra level frustrations
I feel your frustration, I banged my head against mine for the first few weeks after assembly and still spit out profanity at it from time to time :P. I definately was not prepared for the amount of post build learning and troubleshooting required. From reading your post it does look like you have t...

Re: filament bubbling? Rostock max v2, standard hotend with 1x 40w heater
Did you do the pid tune again with the new heater? Replace thermistor as well? If you don't have another way to confirm temps I would use some pla, warm up to ~160 and manually try to push some filament through. if it comes out easy your temp readings are probably off. (Make sure the thermistor didn...

Re: More troubleshooting on the new build
I just switched to kisslicer and my first layer improved significantly. Getting your extrusion multiplier for the filament you are using dialed in makes a big difference. If you are using the stock hot end a single wall (or loop depending on the slicer) should be ~0.55mm. There are plenty of posts a...

Re: More troubleshooting on the new build
I'm still a newb but have been working on calibrating my max v2 for a bit now. First, depending on the slicer the top/bottom/outside layers can be called different things. (Shells, outer surface, or combos of multiple terms for sides/top bottom etc.) infill is specifically for the pattern and densit...

Re: DUET and DUE PANEL
Tracking shows the 7" arriving on Friday. I'll add it to the site now. Thanks! I just checked and the option is there but it's free when adding to cart :P (not that I mind but I'll hold off ordering until resolved). On a side note, is the cable recommend over the connector? And is the IR senso...

Re: Noobs need help again!
i didn't have any left over wiring in my build other than some length. Are you talking about the 80mm fan on the back panel? There are only a couple of fans and they should just be 2 wires. That color combo is not ringing a bell. Little bit more info / instruction page may help narrowing it down. (P...

Re: Newb issue with infill
Just a follow up in case anyone finds this later. I ended up starting over from the beginning and found that my filament was ~1.78 further down the roll after all my fails :p. Changed that on my filament settings and did some more calibration cubes and messing with the multipliers etc. and was able ...

Any eta on the 7"? Now that I have my v2 assembled and running I have caught the bug. Really I just want the ability to connect/control remotely as my printer is in another room. Running around with the SD card is getting old :p. Also going to add in the e3d so I can print some of the higher te...

Newb issue with infill
Hey all. Got my Max v2 up and running a couple weeks ago and have run into an infill issue on my first project. I have been working on a knife guard for my lady as a way to learn modeling, slicing etc. I have ended up with a voronoi style design that I am printing flat in multiple pieces. Its 2mm th...

Re: Rostock Max V2 new build no sound from speaker
I'd have to test but I don't think it makes any noise when printing via USB. It should give a single chirp when selecting (pushing in) things on the menu. (Try to home the towers). I think It does do a triple chirp when you start a print from the SD card. (I made a .gcode file for the tower cal from...

Re: Dean's Rostock Max v2 build
I just got the base together on mine. For #3 the same thing happened to me (I had 1 work fine then killed 3). I then used a spare so I have 2 screws holding it in. I think the nuts are just stronger than the long screws, I don't think I cross threaded 3/4 but could be wrong. If I did it again I'd th...
