Re: Need Help with Setup

And to top it off, my hot end is acting sporadically. I've just run 4 or 5 prints with no problems temperature wise. Then, in the time it took me to write that last response, it started fluctuating hot end temperature wildly and shot up to 270 and melted the PEEK insert. Again. That's my 2nd one in ...

Re: Need Help with Setup

I have the V1 Max which didn't originally come with the LCD screen included, although it was offered as an add on. I bought it originally, but after building the machine, the LCD looked like a bigger pain in the butt than I wanted to deal with at the time. Now they have an easy, pre-soldered board t...

Need Help with Setup

Is there anyone in the Fort Worth, TX area that has a Rostock Max and would be willing to help me sort my machine out? I have had this printer for over a year and a half and have yet to get what I would call a "good" print off of it. I played with it for 4 or 5 months when I first got it a...

Re: 2 problems

Okay, nevermind. I finally sent a G28 and that sent it home and reset the z count. Getting pretty close to dialing it in, I think. Hopefully I'll have a try at a print this afternoon. Thanks for all the help!

Re: 2 problems

No matter what I change those Z Max and printable settings to, nothing changes. I have the carriage at z=0. If I add length, I'd expect it to say z=whatever amount I added. It doesn't. It just stays at 0.

Re: 2 problems

I don't have the LCD and I can't get the hot end close enough to the bed to touch a piece of paper.

What is your Z max setting?

Re: 2 problems

how much of a change to the horizontal radius are you making to notice a change? Also, I can't seem to find a setting to change that lets me touch the bed. I thought changing the x, y & z "max length" values in the eeprom settings would let me drive the carriage closer to the bed, but ...

Re: 2 problems

Okay, thanks for all the help on that issue. Got it back to normal. However, I am back to square one, it would seem, with my original problem which prompted all this messing about. I have run the scripts that position the hot end near each of the masts and in the middle of the bed. At the positions ...

Re: 2 problems

I have the V1 Rostock Max and I just updated to the .91 Firmware. Now when my machine gets to Z=0, the hot end is still 4 or 5 inches above the hot bed. Tech support told me on Friday that I needed to change the steps per revolution to 106.66 because I have the old pulleys. I changed the value "...

Re: 2 problems

Okay, I got the firmware updated successfully and found the horizontal radius field for when I get back to that point. So I started to do the Z calibration, but for some reason, now everything is waaaay off. My hot end is Z=0 at about 94mm away from the bed. I changed the value for steps per on line...

Re: 2 problems

Okay, so I found that software, downloaded it, and the folder is called "repetier-091", so I guess that's the right one. However, there is no .exe file inside. How do I "load" it? What do I do with it?

Re: 2 problems

Where is the repetier firmware stored on my computer?

Is having the old version the reason I can't find the horizontal radius setting?

2 problems

I am completely lost. For one, I really don't have a clue what the heck the arduino software does. I know I run the machine with Repetier Host. I talked to seemecnc today and was told to update my firmware(?). I was also told to look in the eeprom settings to find a setting called "horizontal r...

Re: HELP! Marlin settings?

I must have an old version of the manual or something. Mine indicated that you have to change a setting and push it out to the arduino. Let me see if I can find an updated version, maybe that'll make more sense. Thanks.

Re: HELP! Marlin settings?

I must be confused? I thought I was using Repetier? I have one program called "Repetier Host" that is the interface for running the machine and includes Slicer, let's you input G code, etc. But when I was messing with this thing before, I had to close Repetier down and run the Arduino prog...

HELP! Marlin settings?

I haven't used my Rostock Max in a few months and am trying to get it back online and printing again. I started by downloading the latest Marlin and Repetier software. Now when I drive the nozzle to Z=0, it is still about 3/4" above the hot bed. I tried to go into the configuration h tab in Mar...

Re: rostock max or something else

I'm an engineer and have plenty of experience with traditional subtractive cnc machines. I have worked with some that, upon arrival at our shop, took a factory technician longer to calibrate and set up properly than it took me to get decent prints out of my Rostock Max and this was my first 3D print...
