Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

I don't know, But if it would work with the RamBo board that SeeMeCNC ships with the Rostock Max V2, then It should. You would not need to use the adapter board. http://reprap.org/wiki/MiniRambo There appears to be quite a few versions of the Mini-Rambo board. Since you probably have had a chance t...

I print at 200C, and never had any problems so far. I'm currently using a RED Hatchbox filament bought from Amazon. 220C does seem high for PLA.

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Hi Mac-the-Knife,

I have a question for you.

I have a spare RepRap Discount LCD left over from my Kossel build, after I replaced it with a Full-Graphics controller.
Would this LCD by any chance, be compatible with the Mini-Rambo board on the Eris?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Anyone else have had the above issue with the EZ-Struder, and the other two problems I've noticed? Perhaps you've had more creative solutions than I could come up with. I did notice the air gap you mentioned.. check the other 2 sides as well mine has slight gaps all around. I believe the newer ones...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

So, this morning.. I had a problem when my Eris suddenly started to air-print. As soon as I noticed, I quickly cancelled the print and then tried unloading the filament using the provided gcode macro. But then, I noticed that the filament was slipping, and was not getting pulled back properly. After...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Are there any issues to be concerned about with the Mini-Rambo board drivers and MatterControl working properly on Windows 10?

I have procrastinated long enough, and now I guess I'll have to do this upgrade soon. Presently running Windows 8.1.

themitch22, try running the eeprom_clear program and then try a new firmware upload. The eeprom_clear program will ensure that you're not starting out with weird values. Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Anyone with under extrusion issues. Please read. It appears the bowden tube could have slipped out partly or might not have been seated properly when built. Even if it feels like its going all the way in.. double check that it goes at least to the PCB board (depth), Mine was stopping before the PCB...

When flashing firmware to the Eris use a older version of http://arduino.cc/download_handler.php?f=/arduino-1.6.0-windows.exe you should not get the errors while trying to flash the Eris, this is a known issue with the firmware itself (not just the firmware for Eris) Hello, I used Arduino 1.0.6 and...

Don't go by version number - the main version # isn't updated. If you ordered your machine earlier than 5/20, you need to update the firmware. g. Thanks geneb. As per the change record on github, only the following files were touched 8 days ago (5/18). The rest were more than 3months old. https://g...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Hi geneb,

Thanks for the update.

How does one check the current firmware version? Can it be done via the MatterControl software?

Also, is there some documentation on how to update the firmware on the Eris?

Thanks in advance.

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Folks, I seem to have resolved the stringing problem that I had :D . After messing with various settings, I believe I have narrowed it down to the Z-Lift. I also lowered my temp down to 200 deg C, from the default of 210 deg C. I also restored the retraction-length back to 4.5mm, which was the defau...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Hello All, I printed this other thing out, and the bottom-layer came out pretty nice. Please check out the pictures. But, I'm still seeing quite a bit of stringing. Not sure if it is the Z-Lift, or inadequate retraction that is causing this. Other than that, the printer prints cool. BTW, I pinged &q...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

So I retried the print. This time, I made sure that there is no plastic sticking to the nozzle, and re-calibrated the printer. Attached are the results. It's definitely better than before, but I guess it's not there yet. For comparison, I have attached a picture of one printed (in green) on my Power...

Hello garfi3ld & nebbian: Thank you for your responses. Yes, I have run the auto-level, when the hot-end is cold. So far I have run it prior to each print, since I sometimes need to remove the build-plate to remove the prints. Also, to the best of my knowledge, I have not seen any plastic sticki...
