Fortunately I searched for the error before I spent too much time on the issue and found this post. I am installing 1.6.0 now.
It did bring it back to life!!
Thanks!

The dreaded DEF temperature reading Guide
I asked previously if anyone had written up a guide to the DEF issue and no one had. As a result, I did some searching and decided to post my result, even though they are not entirely complete and from a 3D Printing Rookie. I am not the only one experiencing this problem, but I have found it particu...

Sadly, you are almost certainly right. Ok, not almost, you are 100% correct!Mac The Knife wrote:You probably wouldn't have listened to them, just like the rest of us!

Has anyone written up a guide to DEF?
I, like many people, have been suffering from the dreaded "DEF" temperature display. Initially, it was problems with the temperature of my printer (cold Michigan winter days), or problems with the cable coming lose from the hotend. I built an enclosure and printed out the whipclip . Howeve...

Re: Nozzle Options
As always, great information. I was going to ask the exact same question @thechewiestbacca asked. Two follow up questions... Brass/bronze- These are typical copper alloys. They are rather soft and still have a good thermal conductivity. When used with abrasive filaments, they will rapidly wear, and ...

My Rocstock MAX V2 with HE280 and custom enclosure
2016-12-31_11-53-38.jpg This is my SeeMeCNC Rostock MAX V2. I upgraded the extruder to the HE280. I created a custom enclosure. I took 4" PVC pipes, cut out about one third of the material lengthwise and strapped it to the outside of the printer behind each of the three axis (to prevent the en...

Re: Temperatures read "Def"
Turns out my printer was cold (winter weather passing through Michigan). I read through the post listed below and realized my temps were between 17 and 19°C. I turned on the heater in my enclosure and the problems went away. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=11206&p=99545&hi...

Re: Temperatures read "Def"
I am having the exact same problems. I purchased a new, factory assembled, HE280 for my V2 and it has not helped. I noticed that MatterControl is getting the and displaying the correct temp. I cleared the eeprom, downloaded and installed the latest firmware. Nothing has helped and I have been unable...

Re: Heat Target Fluctuation
Did you do anything to fix the issue of the hotend temperature going back and forth between 0 and 235? I am experiencing the same issue since upgrading to MatterControl 1.6.

Re: Prints poorly after update
I am also having problems with MatterControl since the update. I have a Rostock Max V2 with the upgraded HE280 hotend. I had to remove it and go back to 1.5. Unfortunately, for some reason I thought a bugfix had come out so I reinstalled today after a weekend of really good prints only to find every...

Re: Uneven print bed?
I thought with the auto calibration with the HE280, I did not need to manually adjust the screws on the cheapskates. Boy was I wrong. I also discovered that one of my cheapskates broke AGAIN. The cover was very loose (the two halves not coming together and flopping loose) and when I took it apart to...

Re: Uneven print bed?
Yes that is in the manual. However, with the upgrade extruder (HE280), it does this same calibration automatically.

Uneven print bed?
I am having a problem with my prints. I have included the picture below (which is supposed to be a 150mm square). It appears that the upper left corner of the bed is too high, so the extruder is dragging along the glass preventing any of the PLA from being extruded (also happens with ABS). In the fr...

Re: New HE280, extruder stepper won't go, calibration script does nothing
I have been struggling with getting my printer back operational after upgrading to the HE280. After following the instructions included here, I was able to get it back functional again. Currently waiting on a test print now, but everything is looking good. However, after the upgrade, my LCD no longe...

Re: Latest print job
if you still have curling, consider an enclosure.... I got mine and now I can print abs without any warping.... By enclosure, I assume you mean something to go around the printer to keep outside air from getting in an unevenly cooling the project? Thank you very much for you advice, I think it will...

Latest print job
I was printing up this statue from Thingiverse. I was the first print job for my son (who is 19). As you can see, I had a problem or two. This was, to say the least, a catastrophe. The first 5 or 6 inches printed just fine, then something went wrong. I can only speculate that the bridged sections on...

Hot end keeps hitting part and knocking it loose
I have been trying to print out the PEEK fan shroud. I have tried three time to print it out--the first two just going through the process in the documentation. The third I followed the settings recommended in the document below. The result is shown below. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=3...

Re: New printer from the Detroit Maker Faire
I have been following the instruction manual step by step avoiding interpretation and the desire to perform upgrades before I have it even built (I am thinking that is very good advise). I am reviewing each checkpoint video before and after I work on that section. By sticking to the build process an...

New printer from the Detroit Maker Faire
My wife purchased the Rostock MAX v2 Desktop 3D printer kit for me at the Detroit Maker Faire. I started my Maker life just over a year ago when I was introduced to the Raspberry Pi 2. I'm a Microsoft guy (make a living from Microsoft technology, I do not work for Microsoft), so I loaded it with Mic...
