Thanks for all of the tips- I started with all new firmware and made two modification to config.g Diagonal road length was changed to 340.5 and the home height was changed to 350.56. V3.2 Carbon Fiber Rod upgrade
I just added the carbon rods to my V3.2, along with the aluminum ball joints and despite updated the rod length in config.g I can't get the hot end from severely crashing into the bed. Maybe the homed height has to be adjusted? To maybe 350.56 instead of 400? Here is what my config.g file looks - on...

V3 to V3.2 - Stepper Motors?
Why does the kit instruction speak of new stepper motors? The old look to be the same as the steppers sold and used now. My V3 has gotten very little use as I wanted a production machine to function better out of the box and sadly that has not been my experience to date. I am thinking of buying the ...

Re: Expecting to much from the Max V3?
I'm tired of my Flashforge Creator Pro and the bad build plate design that requires fiddling with calibration all the time when I replace glass plates since it's so loose. Considering getting a Rostock Max V3 instead since it has auto calibration and a larger build plate. Delta's also look awesome!...

Re: Do you earn significant money with 3D printing?
I designed a RJ45 locking device for customer facing devices that my company uses exclusively in retail locations. I was unable to find one on the open market that would work properly on IP phone sets. I sell them for $5 a piece. I would rather sell the design as I prefer not to be in the business o...

Re: A few build notes for the RostockMAX v3 Aficionado
Here's a Whip Clip you can print to keep the HE280 plug from coming out. We'll make an injection mold this next week to include them. The printed one works great. http://repables.com/r/808 I can't seem to print a viable copy of the holder. I have tried PLA and ABS, the 4 parts that are like legs br...

Re: My V3 seems to have died??
There's more than one RAMBo fuse. :D First rule of 3D printing - don't touch it with a metal tool if it's turned on. AT ALL. g. It is a tricky thing, the print head had to be heated up to remove the nozzle and I was worried if I shut it off the thermal fuse might pop however in the future I will ju...

My V3 seems to have died??
Out of all the printers I have owned this one has become my nemesis- from calibration issues to clogged hot end, I would just like it to work. Latest problem, I turned on the printer and brought the hot end up to 180C so I could remove the .4mm stainless steel nozzle and the printer just died. The o...

Re: P003A HE280 [Solved?] Auto Leveling Issue/Bed Leveling Issue/Calibration
Here's the low down... As geneb said, the firmware interprets the gcode (calibration script in this case). For instance, I added a button to OctoPrint to set Z height. All it does is call G30 S2. You could also enter this from the command line in your host to calibrate just the Z height. Not to be ...

Re: P003A HE280 [Solved?] Auto Leveling Issue/Bed Leveling Issue/Calibration
I have run the firmware since Friday and have calibrated 25 separate times ALL with excellent results. I've got about 20 hours of print time on it too with no problems related to the firmware. I'm sending my feedback to SeeMeCNC and I suspect they will make the release official today. I too have be...

Re: New v3 Bed Leveling/Calibration Problems
ToddZilla, firstly congrats on getting this far with your Ph.D. What is your thesis? That last push is tough but well worth it. Store the new calculated Z-probe height in EEPROM and run a test calibration. Double check your Z Max Height to make sure it makes sense. Test print and maybe tweak a bit ...

Re: A few build notes for the RostockMAX v3 Aficionado
I'd love to see a good close up photo of the clip touching the glass and the height the glass is protruding if you can. Those little protrusions on the top of the clip are at the same height as the pad around the screw hole to allow the clip to rotate easily. Since my glass is nearly flush with the...

Re: Rostock Max v3 calibrating script.
We recommend using the LCD rather than gcode now. Also look for a *possible* firmware update at the end of the week related to probing. Any word on an update being release today? I have had one good auto calibrate and I lost that this week working on a Z-offset so I can use Cura as the slice engine...

Re: A few build notes for the RostockMAX v3 Aficionado
In this case, no one is blaming you for the bed mounts geneb :) With the mounts positioned as per Steve's comments, my blue clips do not contact the surface of the glass. I don't currently have anything on the glass so there is no extra thickness and the plate top is just barely proud (<.1mm) of th...

Re: A few build notes for the RostockMAX v3 Aficionado
Let's look at some of my mechanical build notes that can effect probing and printing results. 4) Wiring / Electrical: I just built this v3 in the pictures last week. It works great and it probed and printed first time, like all our other production printers. I did tweak the z probe offset a little ...

Re: P003A HE280 [Solved?] Auto Leveling Issue/Bed Leveling Issue/Calibration
Since the ferrite cores did not resolve the first layer issue caused by poor leveling, for me, I will try a twisted pair and if that does not work I will install a shielded cable for the two I2C communication wires. I may connect the o-scope to look at the signals at both ends of the wires during p...

I installed ferrite cores I removed from a USB printer cable however I did notice that the cable was also shielded. The first go around I only ran the 2-wires, black and red, straight through the core, verses wrapping them around the core, and the results of printing the calibration ring was immedia...
