Re: Sampling Filament Compression Force

I'm curious - what materials/bed are you printing with that you're seeing poor adhesion to the bed? Nozzle temp to layer time would be an interesting and useful feature, as well as filament force.

Re: Base fan upgrade for quietness

Thanks for this - I just built mine and it is indeed loud. I was thinking of a Noctua fan but won't have time to deal with it for a while. Otherwise, though, so far so good. Using a "Nozzle X" from E3D which seems to behave very very nicely.

Re: Post upgrade reports?

There's a bit of a thread in the V3 section, but what I've found so far is MUCH quieter printing thanks to the Duet, better printing overall with more control, and faster startup. Having the ability to adjust the first layer nozzle height on the fly with the Duet web interface is great - no need to ...

Re: New printer owner here. Ask me questions!

Thanks for both the replies - I'm looking forward to trying dual extrusion in the next couple months after I'm sure I have the machine dialed in for single. And after I have Nylons and/or other higher temp materials printing. The Duet web interface is quite nice - at first I was annoyed at not being...

Re: Z-Hop Bop

I have the SE300 hot end and effector, just like the stock V3.2, I believe. I don't have any rattle - the noise I was getting was (as far as I can tell) from the tip of the nozzle impacting the surface of print when coming back down from a Z hop move. Check the screws holding the fans into the platf...

Z-Hop Bop

Finishing up my second 8-hour plus print on my upgraded V3 to V3.2 machine, and I'm getting loud thunking as the nozzle returns to print height from almost every Z-Hop on the infill, like it's hitting the surface of the print moderately hard as it comes down. Print quality is good, extrusion is good...

Re: New printer owner here. Ask me questions!

I just finished my upgrade to V3.2, and there are a lot of things to like so far. Get your dual extrusion set up working pronto and let me know what you think! I would love to be able to print soluble supports and not have to get another printer to do so. I'm counting on you! ;)

Re: What are the benefits of upgrading my Rostock Max V3 to a V3.2

I went ahead and got the upgrade kit, and am doing a first test print now. So far, it is insanely much quieter and seems to handle speed better. The Duet browser control has a lot of nice features and information, and the calibration is much more thorough. Did I mention how much quieter it is? I hav...

Re: What are the benefits of upgrading my Rostock Max V3 to a V3.2

Thanks, geneb.

Any experience with the SE300 vs. the HE280 in terms of high temperature materials? Or is there a clearly better solution like an E3D V6?

Re: What are the benefits of upgrading my Rostock Max V3 to a V3.2

Anyone have a respoonse? I'm thinking about upgrading to 3.2 as it looks like my heater cartridge is shot in my HE280, but want to know for sure that it's a worthwhile upgrade and would allow printing higher temperature materials reliably.

Re: Thermistor resistance and "def"

Thanks for the speedy reply! I was measuring the resistance at hot-end thermistor leads where they are soldered into the hot end pcb, and then I measured at the receptacle for the 8-pin connector, and at the 2-pin plugs that go into the Rambo. The resistance was ~100k Ohms at each spot. When I start...

Thermistor resistance and "def"

I've just built up a new V3 kit, and am getting a reading of -50 on the hot end followed quickly by the dreaded "def". I've checked the resistance of the thermistor and it's spot on at 100k Ohms at room temp from the hot end up to the Rambo now that I fixed a poor connection in the supplie...
