Sounds to me like you're over retracting... You print the first layer, and it retracts when it starts the next layer. Too much and the melted filament in the block gets stuck in the cooling chamber.

I can never go over 4mm. Try lowering your retraction to 3-4mm, and use wipe and coast.

I commented out the G31 in bed.g (and included the M208 command in config.g), still dragging on the plate (I know what you're thinking, of course I changed the Z to -.4 in the G31 of config.g). I just wanted to thank the OP for bringing this up...I've been running auto leveling and then decreasing the overall Z height for a decent first layer height. Not the most efficient, but it worked.

dc42 answered the issue in the Duet forum. Apparently with the update to 1.19 I needed to include M401 before my first G30 code and a M402 after the last.

So I took your advice and sent my Duetwifi to W3DRK. Apparently you were right, it was the Mosfets. He offered to do it for a reasonable price, fixed it quickly, and always returned my messages immediately. I just got it back and now it works like new. Thank you dc42 and W3DRK!

Sorry to hear you're giving up. Did you try lowering the retraction? Try turning it off altogether. Could it be the hotend's not getting hot enough?

Turns out that while printing the connection between the accelerometer and the whip would wiggle loose during sharp movements. It looks like you're over-extruding on some layers. The way it over-extrudes on certain layers tells me it's likely a software issue; if it's not a setting, then mattercontrol itself. If you're desperate to stay with mattercontrol, I'd recommend checking "print outer layers first" (on the ...
