Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
Well, I tried the mesh-bed compensation yesterday, that seemed to do the trick! I had never bothered before because it seemed unnecessary, just to get a visual heightmap of the bed. After playing with it, I realized that the g31 affects the mesh compensation results, which affects (after including G...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
Thank you gene, how about this: "...overridden by the m500 auto-calibration [override] command."
You remind me of a kid in my high school who always wore sweatpants just so he'd never get caught with his fly down. That guy was a genius too.

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I got my config m665 and m666 from running the auto-calibration and inputting the results. But it shouldn't matter, they get overridden by the m500 auto-calibration command. I just can't get the g31 z adjust to work. I can circumvent the issue by adjusting in my slicer, but I'd prefer it to work the...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I noticed that 1.21 was out, so I decided to try installing that to see if it would fix the issue, but I'm still SOL. Duet_Version.pdf I even tried Char'les solution of commenting out M666, but that didn't work either. What the heck is going on? How am I the only 1 with this issue? (btw, I've bumped...

Re: Constant jamming with an e3d V6
Sounds to me like you're over retracting... You print the first layer, and it retracts when it starts the next layer. Too much and the melted filament in the block gets stuck in the cooling chamber.
I can never go over 4mm. Try lowering your retraction to 3-4mm, and use wipe and coast.

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
So, I tried again with your suggestions dc, still no success. I commented out the G31 in bed.g (and included the M208 command in config.g), still dragging on the plate (I know what you're thinking, of course I changed the Z to -.4 in the G31 of config.g). I even tried replacing the M109 with the M11...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I retried it again using Z-.4 , which was determined using the S3D workaround. I'm still dragging on the plate. I checked the console, this is what I got:
Calibrated 6 factors using 16 points, deviation before 0.057 after 0.037

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I decided I wanted to run an auto-configure before my prints, but I still can't get the first layer to print at the correct height! Altering the G31 Z-offset is not making a difference! I even set it to -2 (there's no override if the amount is too great, right?). Can someone look over my codes, see ...

Re: Temperature drops than def
Ivanhandler, sorry to hear you're still having problems. I'm not sure what kind of harness you contrived (springs?), but I still think it's that whip connection...I had the same exact problem until I printed that mount and clip I mentioned before (luckily they printed before I got the def error), I ...

Re: Keep needing higher and higher temp settings. Max V2
Personally, I had the same issues whenever I retracted more than 4mm...the filament would get clogged inside the v6. I think the reason you had to increase the temp was to melt the filament inside the cooling chamber...I'm surprised you didn't burn your filament. Check your hotend fan to make sure i...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I decided I was going to try to set my printer up right using the G31 Z height, but I'm still having issues. I commented out the M558 like the OP suggested, but still having problems. Since I use S3D and don't know how to change it so it doesn't use the M109 command, (or know if it even uses it), I ...

Re: Whip holder fails after a few hours (Max3)
I had mentioned my solution in your other post, maybe you overlooked it. I printed this retention clip https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2192079 and put a zip tie around the top, with very successful results. Hope it helps! Otherwise you can do some rewiring to bypass the accelerometer for the hoten...

Re: Duet WiFi with E3V6 dragging on plate
I just wanted to thank the OP for bringing this up...I've been running auto leveling and then decreasing the overall Z height for a decent first layer height. Not the most efficient, but it worked.

dc42 answered the issue in the Duet forum. Apparently with the update to 1.19 I needed to include M401 before my first G30 code and a M402 after the last.

Auto Calibration Confusion
Hi all! I'm trying to re-setup my Rostock after sending my Duetwifi to the shop for some minor repairs, but my auto-calibration routine seems to be going haywire. I have FSR's under the bed as Michael Hackney demonstrates http://www.sublimelayers.com/2016/01/fsr-auto-calibration-setup-for-duet.html ...

To be honest, bottom layer warping still eludes me somewhat (1 out of 5 times I still get some warpage), but I wanted to share simplify3d's troubleshooting guide https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/#print-not-sticking-to-the-bed Apparently it could be a number of factors...

So I took your advice and sent my Duetwifi to W3DRK. Apparently you were right, it was the Mosfets. He offered to do it for a reasonable price, fixed it quickly, and always returned my messages immediately. I just got it back and now it works like new. Thank you dc42 and W3DRK!

Re: Replacing the hotend on my Max V2
Sorry to hear you're giving up. Did you try lowering the retraction? Try turning it off altogether. Could it be the hotend's not getting hot enough?

Re: Replacing the hotend on my Max V2
In my experience, these are the ways my hotend would jam: 1. if the retraction setting was too high, the filament would solidify thickly at the top of the hotend (like a mushroom) between the ptfe tube and the passage in the hotend 2. The hotend got too hot and burned the filament in the nozzle or i...

Re: New member intro with a couple of basic questions
I agree with deltacon, the guide is really the best literature out there. I've read and skimmed a lot of books available out there, but they're all pretty simplistic, nothing to recommend. This forum has been the best I've seen when it comes to advice, and it's interactive! There are lots of upgrade...

Re: Is my Rostock Max2 possessed by demons?
[The tech support guy said to make the wheels more snug on the bars; when I checked, it did seem that they were rather loose, so I did that. I thought I'd see if that helped before messing with the belt tension, since the manual warned about making it too tight. I thought the "cheapskate"...

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
Did that work for you? I had this problem when I upgraded my v2 with an accelerometer and whip. Turns out that while printing the connection between the accelerometer and the whip would wiggle loose during sharp movements. Not enough to free the whip from the accelerometer, but enough to temporarily...

Re: Advice to have a good Print
It looks like you're over-extruding on some layers. The way it over-extrudes on certain layers tells me it's likely a software issue; if it's not a setting, then mattercontrol itself. If you're desperate to stay with mattercontrol, I'd recommend checking "print outer layers first" (on the ...
