Re: Back in Business
Thank you for the input. I tried using the original settings but the movement is still off. The first few layers are decent but then as the layers increase past 3 or 4 the nozzle begins digging into the print. I've never seen this before. I am going to try to tighten the pulleys when I have a chance...

Back in Business
Hey Fellas, Not sure if anyone comes back here these days, but hey I'm slow, nothing I can do about it. :D I'm rebooting the Rostock Max v2. I want to use the mini Trick Truck carriages (Trick Laser) with the 291.08mm rods and the ball bearing end effector. Does anyone know what the Carriage Horizon...

Bed enlargement
Been thinking of combining 2 or maybe 4 square borosilicate 300 x 300 glass plates to make a larger max v2. Any foreseeable problems aside from the mechanical changes of expanding the frame? I’m guessing I would just have to increase the bed size in the slicer and probably the firmware? Would this m...
Re: DLP/SLA
Thanks, I know it’s been asked before but the answers may be a bit dated, what DLP should I use? As far as I can tell, any 1080p dlp over 3000 lumens, with contrast ratio of 20,000 to 1 should work. Seems like changing the led bulbs to uv is ideal, not sure if that only works on certain makes/models...
DLP/SLA
I have an extra Rambo board sitting around. Was thinking of replicating the droplit. Is it possible to run a Sla printer on a Rambo without a ton of coding? Asking for a friend.

Silicone Bed/SSR Gradual Temp Drop
Any idea what would be causing the bed temp to drop during printing? The drop seems to start when it begins printing and gradually declines a .10 of a degree at a time. My wiring seems to be ok, otherwise I assume it wouldn't reach target temperature. Since the bed is powered by a separate line sour...

Re: Onyx Temp Rating
Thank you for the advice Xenocrates. I actually needed some insulation like this for another project, was thinking of making an electric kiln/furnace. :D The sheet is a little smaller than the snowflake. Did you cut the sheet in any particular shape? Also, I have a band saw and a jigsaw, or should I...

Re: Onyx Temp Rating
I finally received the aluminum heat spreader. A couple of things: 1. Is it ok to use in the melamine Rostock v2 frame? I saw in the item description not to use a wood box, I assume 2 different things.... 2. Am I doing away with the onxy altogether, or am I attaching on top of the aluminum? Thanks f...

Re: Terminal Connectors for Accelerometer Board
well that's certainly a creative solution. :D Was thinking of using pin connectors for the thermistors.... https://www.amazon.com/Hilitchi-2-54mm-Headers-Connector-Housing/dp/B012EOO9Q0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523492055&sr=8-3&keywords=pin+connectors I guess something like these would wo...

Wire Connectors for Accelerometer Board
I've burned through two accelerometer boards and I want the third to really last. What are the best wire connectors to use for the hot end and thermistor wiring? I looked into using screw terminal connectors but they only seem to come in two pins or more, but not one pin. Since the holes for the hot...

Re: Onyx Temp Rating
Thanks Gene. From what I've read, polycarbonate apparently likes very hot bed temps.

Onyx Temp Rating
Hello Everyone,
Does anybody know what temp you can heat the PCB Onyx Board to? I was thinking of putting some resistive wire between the bed and the glass to get to higher temp than 110.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for input!

Re: E3D Hot End + Accelerometer Board
Any idea where in the firmware I could try to adjust the wattage? I've scanned the config and extruder tabs but don't see anything? Thanks for your help.

Re: E3D Hot End + Accelerometer Board
It won't even reach the default 235 during the PID tuning and the PID tuning times out. I can only manage to get it to PID tune up to 230.
The temp also dips erratically during prints causing the print to terminate.

E3D Hot End + Accelerometer Board
Hello,
Any idea why my E3D hot end barely reaches 230? I have it hooked up to the accelerometer board and the newer power supply for the Max V2. Please help.

Always something on this Max v2!
On around 50% of my prints, after laying down a couple of layers perfectly, the machine will suddenly stop extruding and the hot end will just run back and forth in a straight line continuously, until I cancel the print. Occasionally the print will finish and I've noticed that it seems to have more ...

calibration w/accelerometer
I upgraded my v2 with the e3d and the seemecnc accelerometer board. I used both of the auto calibration steps, basic and the advanced. The first layer is still slightly uneven, looks perfect towards the back of the z position but towards the front is slightly too high. Any ideas on how this could ha...
