Re: I cannot figure out PETG . . . please help
Ok . . . so i ran 626pilot's extruder calibration cube. Nailed it down to about .97 with an extrusion width of .45mm and a layer of 0.15. So far so good. I feel my z is pretty good. as I said before I run a duet wifi with auto calibration, custom z trigger heights for all 16 points (6 factor), fsrs,...

I cannot figure out PETG . . . please help
Ok so what’s the secret to PETG? I’ve read countless posts and tried countless variables. I’ve been trying to print this part for last last 4 days. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2345304 P0087 My machine: Rostock Max V1 (yup an old trusty V1, modified of course) Greg Wade extruder (properly calib...

Re: Duet Wifi and Cyclops
Yup, got it . . . i took the two extruder, one hot end code and put it in the machine. I've calibrated the heaters. Got a few questions: 1st. how do i command the second extruder to move? I see in the duet web control only one extruder control is there. How do i switch it so that the 2nd extruder ca...

Duet Wifi and Cyclops
Another Duet question. . . sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong spot, (there just doesn't seem to be a lot activity in the Duet Forums) How does one configure the duet to work with a cyclops. I know where all the wires go, but I'm looking at the web control interface and there isn't a place where ...

Re: Duetwifi + Rostock Max V1 + New PSU?
Its a computer ATX style power suppler, but its not the "old" one. Back a few years when I knew the original power supply wouldn't hold up, i decided to upgrade. Its still a computer style PSU, its just not a meanwell style. Call me stupid . . . i just didn't know any better back then. Its...

Duetwifi + Rostock Max V1 + New PSU?
Just received my Duetwifi running through the documentation, Geneb and Mhackney's tutorials and setup guides. The power supply is what has me baffled. The V2 has been upgraded to an industrial power supply something like a mean well PSU. The V1, my V1 is still using a modified Computer ATX PSU. The ...

Re: usb com port not working
Not sure if this has been answered, but what version of Arduino IDE are you using? I had downgrade mine before it worked. Older boards seem to favor the 1.0.6 release rather than the 1.6.7 release. Try that out.

Re: Need help with Octoprint
Looks like its working . . . I'm slicing using MatterControl since my settings are in place and then sending the Gcode over to the PI. Its not a perfect setup but it did a decent job. Thanks . . . Octoprint not connecting and Astroprint still defining the board as unknown is still mystery. Perhaps o...

Re: Need help with Octoprint
So I've been trying all the different solutions. I've reloaded the firmware, tried and matched multiple baud rates, with no luck. So I looked online at a program called Astroprint. Its another PI/Linux flavor print server similar to Octopi. I loaded up the firmware, it connected to may network just ...

Re: Need help with Octoprint
Ok so here's what i've done: I've sent an lsusb command at the pi and came up with the following (printer unplugged, ethernet is the only thing plugged in) Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9514 Standard Microsystems Corp. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ...

Re: Need help with Octoprint
So sending a 'home all axes' does nothing? I'll take a look at my config tomorrow. No dice I'm afraid. I hit the little arrows but nothing happens, the little home buttons don't work, and I've even tried to send a G28 command in the Terminal to no avail. Is there something in the Repetier Firmware ...

Need help with Octoprint
To All: I know there is a seperate topic to discuss Octopi and Octoprint but the last activity on that board was back in july so i'm not sure how much foot traffic that board gets. So I recently aquired a Raspberry Pi2. I followed the instructions, loaded up Octopi image, and connected. -Running Gen...

SD Card Reader not working on MAX v1
So I've never printed from the SD Card reader. And I've had my Max for about 2 years now. I've got it dialed in pretty well with a E3D Cyclops with the standard nozzle. The problem is hate tethering my computer to it. I don't mind that I use my PC for generating G code, slicing and such, but any lit...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
Ok so I printed the calibration thing from thingiverse. After some adjustments to the tower angles (within 0.5 degrees), checking belts, skates, etc. This is what I have. The areas between Z and X is high (not much adhesion) and the area between Z and Y is Low (squished plastic) . Areas at the tower...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
Still a little new here . . . but I've been lurking on this post for a bit hoping someone finds out something. I've got an original Rostock Max and I'm also noticing the "potato chip" feature where my hot ends take a dive in some regions and hits hard on the build plate in some areas despi...

Need help with dual extruder
Another dual extruder question. So I've been working with Bubbasnow's design regarding the dual extruder design. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:278076" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've put dial indicator inplace of the extruders to see if I can actually level this thing...

Upsilon . . . an experiment
So I'll start off by saying I love my Rostock Max. But I have to add that my printer has not been running for well over 6months with the modifications. My patience nearly ran out till just now. As the title of this post suggests Upsilon is a method where I there are 2 inputs of filament to a single ...

Re: HPX2 Dual Extruder
On the Hpx2-Max: The thing the bothers me is the wiring. How does one hook this in if they have a ramps? I see where the extruder is wired, but there is a servo that is attached that will switch the filament. How does repetier know to move the servo over? Are we talking firmware rework? HPX2: The HP...

Wow, that is awesome . . . thank you for taking the time to write all that up.
I will give what you said a shot. . . . might take me some time.
Any word on the PSU? are you able to get to 230 on both heads and 110 at the bed with the stock PSU?

Help! Dual Extruder E3D V5
Really need some help with this. . . I have 2 E3D v5s on a v1 Rostock Max. I am using Repetier v91. I am highly successful in printing PLA using a single nozzle using the stock Rostock Max extruder. I am using tricklaser's arms. The extrudes are a variant of my own design. My first issue is adhesion...

Rocketeer Costume - Rocketpack and Helmet
Warning . . . Very Picture Heavy. So i've been working on a project for the last 2 months. Most of it was spent modeling. I tend to go a bit overboard when it comes time for Halloween. I've tried a lot of different techniques to build different costumes. I am by no means an expert or a master at thi...

Re: Temperature Drop mid print
Quick question, how much run time can one get using the same rostock max hot end before replacement. I ask this because most professional machines have xxx amount of hours per tip before they have to be removed and replaced. Thanks this helps me narrow down what parts i possibly need to replace. Yea...
