Re: Files other than .STL?

3d printing is still very primitive, even Stratasys uses STL files still. I totally agree that "3d printing is still very primitive" But I think "additive manufacturing" is making some ground breaking advancement. I've been interested in this file question since bringing my Max ...

I found this modeler the other day. http://stephaneginier.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's fairly simple and similar to "Sculptress" I like the UI better. You can use it solely on the web or load a stand alone version. Might be useful to get started with o...

Re: Under extrusion after retracts

Re: What features do you like on other Deltas?

I think 626Pilot has hit most of the list. The one thing that's been on my mind lately is an enclosure. I think once you nail a frame design down, you have to consider an enclosure. I have a V1 with the original side extruder mount. It severely hampers designing a "clean" enclosure of the ...

Re: Photon Elephant: A real OS for your 3D Printer.

I think it's use of RaspberryPi is problematic. I have not had good experience with RPi due to it being way underpowered (processor speed). I remember you having issues Michael. This was my worry too. this is neat, have you looked into linuxcnc/machinekit? its the same thing but for beaglebone blac...

Re: Advice needed for design

IMO, try printing it upright. It's a large piece. If your printer isn't calibrated well(hopefully it will be ;) ) you might have issues out at the edged of the build area. I also think the layering in that orientation would make it stronger. It will require some support under the pointed piece. As f...

Re: printed bearings

Printing these requires the correct support settings in the slicer. You need to have an almost solid support disc for the very small point of contact that the balls sit on. And if one comes loose, your done. :)
