I'm in the exact same situation, printing face shields for first responders, and my hot end died, and I happen to have an E3D V5 here that I'm going to install. Would you share your settings after you get yours dialed in? I won;t be ready to print again for a couple of days, but having a good starti...

Re: Repetier firmware for Rambo with H1?

Thanks, guys, I'll work it out using your suggestions.

Is there a published spec on the actual parameters(steps/mm) for teh H-1 that you know of?

RAMBO keeps resetting if I slow the feedrate down, or....

Rostock Max V2 w/ Rambo 091 and using repetier host. I have an .stl that prints ok at normal feedrates, 30-60mm/s range for teh various parts of the print. But since it is a small part, the ABS stays too hot between passes, and the part ends up getting distorted. So I slowed it down to 25% using the...

Well, that is on the bare Arduino. I suspect ot's telling me something on the RAMBO board.

I'll have a peek through the code.

Re: [NEW! 12Feb14] Rostock MAX Assembly Manual

The assembly manual (which is quite good, overall, BTW!) can be a little confusing if, like me, you print it out in B & W for use while assembling the printer. On p. 190, the photo of the Rambo board showing where to plug in the endstops, does clearly have a rectangle around the proper board con...

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Hi Charles: 1) Knowledge of electronics is not what is needed to make sense of your videos. I am an electrical engineer, but that doesn't help me know what you are doing, or see the settings on your o'scope. 2) Mach3 is acting correctly-if RESET is blinking, it will not put out any signals. this is ...

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Hi Charles: Maybe it is just me, but I can;t see anything of use in the videos you posted. Perhaps if you narrated them and said what you were measuring, and what you saw on the scope, they would be useful. Anyway, based on the answers you gave me above, the problem has to be somewhere on the TB6560...

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Please give me longer answers, instead of the short ones you have been giving. The more you write, the better, at this point. I suspect we speak different languages natively, so we will have to work harder at this. -When you say, "the engines are stopped", do you mean that Mach3 is in a st...

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Ya' gotta' work with me, Charles... In the video, is Mach moving the axes while you are measuring? Does the 4-axis boards have activity lights, like the 3-axis board does? If so, do they change state when you start and stop the axis motions in Mach? Did you check the parallel port address in Mach an...

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Can't tell anything much from your video.

I see that Mach3 is running, but not what axes(if any) are being moved.

I see that you are using a PC-based oscilloscope to measure the signals, but it looks like DC with random bursts of noise-or are the noise bursts step pulses?

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Yes, but many machines DO require the optos to be jumped out.

If your machine works well without jumping the optos out, don;t bother jumping them out.

If you machine does not work, you should try it.

Re: Configuration (H1-4x SeeMecnc) for Mach3

Your photos do not show the optos on the 4-axis board jumped out.

What are you using for teh port address in Mach3?

What address is shown for your port in System Properties(XP)?

Mach3 supposedly has stuff built in to cause pirated copies to be, shall we say, "less than predictable.

That;s straight from Arty Fenerty, Mach's inventor.

Note on temperature differences-I have 2 different meters with temp probes, and they differ in their reading by over 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Which one is correct, i couldn;t say....if either one is correct!

Re: Can;t get ABS to stick to heated bed

I'm not familiar with John's business card trick. But I set the Z height using a height-setting routine that lowers the Z axis until it hits a grounded metal plate, then sets Z to the value of the plate thickness. So I am reasonably sure when I say Z=0, the nozzle will touch the bed. Should I be doi...

Can;t get ABS to stick to heated bed

I am using an aluminum sheet bed heated to anywhere between 180-240 degrees F. The ABS won;t stick to it.

What should I check?
