Re: [NEW! 12Feb14] Rostock MAX Assembly Manual
I agree. The towers should have been labeled with something oher than XYZ. If you wanted to keep it easy to figure out where to plug the towers on the Rambo, then label them with both XYZ and something else. Then NEVER call them XYZ when discussing them. This was and is a source of confusion when I ...

Re: Odd Inconsistent Z level on Rostock
I'm sorry, but the Orion is a bit different from the Rostock, and my space's machine is several revisions back on the Rostock anyway. On our machine, there are bearings at the top of the towers which the belts ride on. Those bearings are secured by a screw and nut, and there is a slot that you can u...

Re: Extruder stepper losing steps
Yes, simply printing with the door open made a big difference. I'll get a fan wired eventually. I am also planning to add a peek fan, which our machine does not currently have.

Extruder stepper losing steps
Hello again! To shorten a longer story, I have recently had to do a good bit of maintenance on my makerspace's Rostock Max. I thought I had managed to solve all of it's issues (they were many) but now that I have started printing, I have heard the extruder missing steps. We have an EZstruder on this...

Re: Odd Inconsistent Z level on Rostock
Well, you were in the right ball park for sure. When I started looking at the belts it became pretty obvious that they had loosened up over time, I guess that was one maintenance step I missed. I tightened the belts and the z level issues are fixed (though now I need to recalibrate the towers again....

Re: Odd Inconsistent Z level on Rostock
Thanks guys! I'll be in there on Saturday, so I'll be able to give it a look then. I'll report back either way.

Odd Inconsistent Z level on Rostock
Hello! First, some background: The machine I am working with is part of equipment used in a makerspace. As such, it gets used by a bunch of people. While we usually try to train our members before turning them loose on a piece of equipment, it doesn't always work out the way we want, and of course s...

Re: EZSTRUDER mounting plate?
Due to what was probably improper use of our machine, I recently had to make a new bracket like what you are looking for. In my case, I needed 70779. I managed to find STL files for 70779 and 70778 for the EZ struder here: https://github.com/seemecnc/EZStruder/tree/master/STLs%20of%20old%20style%20a...

Re: What am I missing - Extruder and Arm Calibration
First print with the EZStruder was pretty decent. Printed the 20x20 box and figured out the problem with the last test. I had been printing a 20mm hollow box instead of a 20mm box with 0% infill. The hollow box has a set outer perimeter width where the solid box does not. When you print the hollow b...

Re: What am I missing - Extruder and Arm Calibration
I was printing on a cheapo $5 mirror that we managed to find at our local Walmart covered in blue painter's tape. Now we have managed to acquire a piece of glass from SeeMeCNC. I think the previous platform may have been non-level, because I was able to get the arms much better aligned this time. I ...

Re: What am I missing - Extruder and Arm Calibration
#1. I'll have to look at the exact setting, but I thought perimeters was the number of passes it made, so it's more like 1*.55 = .55, not 1mm + .55mm = 1.55mm. I'm using the default slic3r if that helps. #2. Our machine was built by committee, so I never read the portion of the docs which talked abo...

What am I missing - Extruder and Arm Calibration
Hey guys! I'm part of the QC Co-Lab which was one of SeeMeCNC's stops on their Road to Maker Faire trip. I've been trying to get our new Rostock MAX printing as well as I can, but I've hit a road block and I'm not sure how to continue. The following are the three things I am most confused about: 1. ...
