I did receive that error! I will check into that. Likely, just re-wire the thermistor. Thanks for your insight!
All the best,

Re: Hot End and Bed Shut Off Mid Print
Hello, It's happened a few times now. I tried a different part and the same thing happened again, and I have made a rather fiddly YouTube video to show the result. The bed is entirely cold and I imagine that the hot end is as well. I didn't remember to check the temperature read-out. Something that ...

Re: Hot End and Bed Shut Off Mid Print
Nope, the entire machine keeps working. So the power supply can't be the problem. It seems that only the heating elements shut off. It isn't fuses either, because it came back up to temperature after resetting the machine.

Hot End and Bed Shut Off Mid Print
Hello, I'm curious if anyone else has had a problem where the Rostock Max starts a print, gets a few layers down, and then shuts off the power to the heated bed and the hot end. It's not a fuse because I can reset the printer and then bring everything back up to temperature. The head is not clogged,...

Re: Extruder Stopping, Hot End Not Clogged
Oops, yes that was a typo. I'll edit the post to change all of the 140s to 240s and 145 to 245. I have been printing with ABS only. Having not yet mastered ABS, I'm reticent to try different materials. If the print at 245 bombs out I'll up it to 250 and speed it up some. I have most of the settings ...

Extruder Stopping, Hot End Not Clogged
Hello, I have just started to have a problem with my Rostock Max. I have been trying to print out an object off the SD card that is 7 inches tall or so. The print quality of the failed prints looks beautiful, but about 3 inches up the printer stops extruding but continues the X, Y, Z movement as if ...

Re: Ridges in print.
Ok, I really, really, really, really figured it out! I had upgraded to the e3d v5 hot end. When I was assembling it, I just barely tightened the heater block. Over time this loosened up a lot and was spinning loose. Once I tightened the heater block back up all of the major ridges came out of the pr...

Re: Ridges in print.
Just to give an update, the bearings weren't the problem. They certainly do help. I imagine reducing any friction in the system helps, but it looks like the flat spots were more do to the snap on "tires" for the bearings. I had some of them torqued down too tight and made flat spots. I als...

Re: Ridges in print.
The flat spots that I felt was in the travel of the cheapskate trolley on the leg entirely assembled, with the stepper motor uninstalled. So the source had to be in the cheapskate trolley. I inspected every bearing after taking them off them none of them were rough running as if they themselves had ...

Re: Ridges in print.
Ok, I think that I might have figured it out. I was thinking that it might be the ball joints were not lubed that was causing the problem, but I lubed those and it didn't make a difference. So then I started wondering about the kit bearings used in the cheapskates. I started replacing those and the ...

Re: Ridges in print.
Hello, So I have had a little success, kinda. I changed the part I was trying to print to a different one. The first print of it I did, had a lot more ridges in it because of some poorly designed overhangs. I fixed those, and I also adjusted the cheapskates and lubricated the arms. I first used &quo...

Re: Ridges in print.
Thanks for your ideas! I'll give them a shot. I tried a much simpler print of a cube and it printed much better. There was one big ridge, and then some noise on two of the four vertical sides. I have the trick laser arms, so I wouldn't expect them to be much fiction there, but I will take them off a...

Re: Ridges in print.
OK, I gave that a shot. In twisting each of the cheapskates I could feel that one of them could torque a little. So I turned the casters to add a little tension and remove a little slop in it. I then loosened up all of the cheapskates (the screws between the belt clamps) so they could move a little ...

Re: Ridges in print.
Hello, So I have been working on trying to get the ridges out of my print with little success. I have found some issues that needed to e fixed along the way, but nothing that gets rid of the error. The first problem I found was that the bed was super loose. Two of the blind nuts had stripped and wer...

Hi Joe, Thanks for your insight. Somehow I seemed to post two of the exactly same post to this forum, with both of them not having the image to the FAIL HAPPENS category. Kinda apropos. I'm going to reply to the other post. Here is a URL to it! http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=4786

Ridges in print.
Hi Folks, While I'm pretty happy with how this print turned out. There was issues with it sticking to the bed. It peeled up around the neck. Do you think that is what caused the poor registration? That was my thought. The head may have been hitting the print knocking it back and forth creating these...

Hey 626Pilot,
I just finished printing out 4 copies of leg clamps for the Rostock Max v1. Does this mean this will render the technique you outlined obsolete on thingiverse and the need for the clamps obsolete?

That's great to know. In trying to work around my issue, something resolved itself. I thought I was going to have to resort to working only with the SD card a while. I'm glad what ever happened did! Again, thanks for your reply.

Re: Display Question
If you have a newer machine you ignore the Marlin firmware files. I only used the Repetier firmware files. If you have used Arduino before, you open the Repetier Firmware files like any other Arduino Project. Make sure that you have the most recent version of the Arduino IDE installed (1.5). It will...

Re: Failed Calibration Attempts Gallery
Hi Guys, Thanks for you responses. I've been going pretty methodically combing through the forums and feel that I am making progress, but a lot of it feels like muddling through. I have been using Repetier Host on a Rambo 1.1 board and Slic3r as my slicer. It's good to hear that once things are dial...
