Yes, we got one for testing. I don't know what the name is. I've seen "Archim" - which is printed on the board - but it's unclear what the actual name will be.

Yes, it's very similar. MadeSolid PET+, Colorfabb XT, Colorfabb nGen, Taulman nVent, and the PETG filaments are all copolyesters, and they are all very similar in both their mechanical properties and their surface finishes.Eaglezsoar wrote:Do you know if the n-vent is similar to the PETG that I see on the market?

Yes, faster travel speed (175-200mm/s), and if you're using Z lift, stop if you can. Z lift just adds more time between retraction and subsequent extrusion, and time is the main reason for oozing/stringing. Even if the pressure is fully released from the melt zone, gravity is still in play and wants...

Just to follow up. I loaded your firmware/config onto my v1 Max, and experienced the same issues. The bug has been noted and we're looking into a fix for MC.

Might I suggest looking at other filament options? ABS absolutely sucks to print with and there are lots of options that provide equal or better mechanical strength without any of the warping, curling, or bed adhesion issues - namely the PET/PETG filaments (PET+, nGen, Colorfabb XT, nVent, PETG, etc)

2. Extruding too fast for hotend - e3dv6 LITE - reduced print speed from 50mm/s to 35mm/s. That's the issue. Your retraction is set to 4mm. With the E3D, you shouldn't be above 2-3mm with PLA. That part won't print well in ABS with a lower temp. It's just too small. Print 2 or 3 at a time and you'll get better results. The tubing doesn't feed down as far as it does on the v6. MatterSlice has some default values set for acceleration and jerk. If those match your firmware values, the estimates will be closer. I don't know what those defaults are, but they're likely lower than what your machine settings are - it's better to say it'll take 2 hours and finish in 90 minutes th...

100 is too hot for the bed. 60-70C. Elmer's glue on glass, buildtak, or pei should all work. It doesn't shrink as much as ABS, but with that much heat it will. Nylon has a lower Tg than ABS - 45-70C depending on the polymer. Having the bed at 100+C puts you well past Tg, and thus, you'll have troubl...

Desiccant alone won't dry it out. It will keep it dry, but you'll need some heat to dry it out.
You can use a 40-60w incandescent light bulb inside a bucket, or throw it in an oven at 180-190F for 4-6 hours.

The blue trimmer line is AWESOME for printing. I printed well over 50 pounds of the stuff before there were nylon filaments available. As with all nylons, you need to ensure it's thoroughly dry before you print with it. 55-65C with elmer's glue stick will work with most parts. You'll likely want to ...
