Re: Rostock Max for Sale
I am thinking it might be better to take it apart and split it up into several packages. I believe that would bring the shipping cost down quite a bit.

Re: Tips for Nylon printing without a heated bed
I picked up some cheap felt with a sticky backing on it from my local Wally World last night. I started experimenting with it tonight when I got home from work. I have yet to have a print fail. I'm getting no edge curl or separation from the bed even on large prints. The only problems i am having wi...

Ok, so i've been experimenting and i have discovered that, plain felt taped to the bed works really well for me. Plus its super cheap!

Re: Getting Nylon to stick to the bed.
Thank you guys for such a quick response, I guess i should have included a little more info on my build setup when i did the original post, my Max has a stock seemecnc hotend and a aluminum build plate. (my glass broke the first time i heated the bed) Right now i've had the most success on small pri...

Getting Nylon to stick to the bed.
I started experimenting with nylon a few days ago and for the most part i like it alot. The one problem i am having with it is getting it to stick to the bed. I have tried glue sticks, tape (white and blue), cardboard, double sided sticky tape, cotton fabric, canvas, and burlap. i have also tried ha...

Re: Charge-out Rate
This is none of my business but I was wondering why you couldn't find enough work even with lower charges. Would you say that location played the biggest role? Location was a factor, at the time that i started my shop the local economy had just lost the last of its major manufactures. The area beca...

Re: Charge-out Rate
The Machine shop that i work for charges $55 per hour for CNC/Conventional machining and $85 for inspection/troubleshooting and we have way more work that we can handle. When i owned my own shop i charged $35 per hour for everything but couldn't find enough work. Just charge what you can and still m...

Mine is oversized also, My taulman 618-1.75 mm is averaging between 1.75mm and 1.82mm. This is my first time using nylon so I haven't got to far into the roll yet but it seems tobe able to print. Mine does seems tobe really wet, there is a lot of popping when i print. I just opened the spool today s...

Re: No idea whats going on. (Extruder? Firmware?)
Mine started doing the same exact thing last night while i was experimenting in repeaterhost with speeds/feeds ect. For mine, I discovered that my filament roll had had somehow "caught." It would turn but not freely. So i fixed it and cleaned the drive gear on the EZstruder, but I still ha...

Welcome to the forums! Along with the manual, read as much as you can of the troubleshooting and build logs sections so you have a better chance of avoiding the mistakes others have made. For me, both those sections were extremely valuable. The guys on the forum are usually really quick to answers t...

Re: The "PartDaddy" Large Format 3D Printer
That is cool, I have been debating on building an all metal max 2x the size of the original RS-Max. This is just insane though.
One of my thoughts would be to mount the tip of a mig welder for the hotend and actually make large metal parts with this beast.

I did a search and just found this thread. There is some really good info here, but its kinda dated now. So now im wandering how everybody has done since they last posted. Have speeds and feeds changed? Are big blocks of aluminum still the best way to keep the Max from dancing of the table. What typ...
