Re: Astrosyn Dampers on Orion?

I hate to "harsh anyone's buzz", but I put Astrosysns in my max a week or two ago and it is now LOUDER than it was with the foam gaskets, 1/8 inch grommets & longer motor screws - which had the advantage of barely needing a mm of hob gear out-shift. It isn't worth my time and trouble ...

Re: Dampers!

PM'd for an invoice. Has the price changed for the new design? Has anyone noticed a performance impact? I'd be installing these for my first build. Price hasn't changed for the new ones. Never received a PM, but I did get a couple orders with my paypal button and through eBay if one of them was you.

Re: Astrosyn Dampers - min quantity 10!?

^^ this. I have a spare one at home and so does my buddy because they just won't fit the ezstruder mount without some serious remodelling. A shame, coz the extruder motor is now the noisest thing on the printer when it's running! Hmm... wouldn't be too hard to manufacture... easy enough to do on a ...

Re: Should I buy a printer before college?

I would definitely recommend pestering him, because I would personally purchase his machine if I didn't think I would feel bad for purchasing it out from under you! lol But seriously, based on all the work I've read that he's put into that machine, it's a steal for the price he's selling it. Pester...

Re: Dampers!

Well, it's time for the big reveal I guess... I have been looking into other damper options for a while now, and have finally decided to switch suppliers. I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet, so here they are: P2360279.JPG P2360280.JPG The rubber in the dampers is actually slightly harder ...

Re: vibration dampers on clearance

Sometimes that's the cost of doing business, as a consumer that is :) I paid $8 ea for mine, and that's fine. I assumed that Astroboy payed the shipping to import a bulk order of them, and he's definitely got to make a couple bucks to make it worth his while. I have zero issues with that. I used to...

Makes you wonder - we have open source, maybe it's time to start the ball rolling on open patents? Like a group dedicated to the preservation of patents for the "little guy" to make sure that Stratysys doesn't happen.

Cambo's machine would make a great machine. He does great work and his upgrades would be done to perfection. A great selection for someone. I haven't heard back from him so far. I see one on eBay that is going for around the same price as cambo. Based on cambos upgrades, do you think it would be wo...
