Re: Everything is out of scale

I'm having a similar issue and I think it's because I bought my machine at MakerfareNYC from SeeMeCNC but just after that they changed out the arms to the ball ones. So in the build instructions they just tell you to set the Diagonal rod length to 290.8 which threw me off for awhile but with this ...

Re: globs and bubbles everywhere

I was thinking 80mm would have been fine on it but I went ahead and tried it at 40mm and there is still the same blobs. It looks almost like filament is being burned. I have my peek fan on full speed and the heater assembly is fully wrapped in insulator tape. I'm really perplexed by it. IMG_8633[1 ...

globs and bubbles everywhere

So here's my back story. I got the RostockMax V1 almost two years ago and I built it and got it printing really nice. Then I got cocky and starting tweaking left and right, changing settings left and right. then one day it just stopped being able to extrude during a print. It would extrude filament ...

Re: Got my Rostock Max all built and up and running

I'm using one of the Chinese laser cutters. I've modified mine a lot but the gantry is still the same with a cut area of 12"x20" and I added a 60w tube so I could cut more. Here is a similar model http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUTTER-CO2-LASER-ENGRAVING-MACHINE-AUXILIARY-ROTARY-50W-CAREFULLY-CRAFTED-d7 ...

Re: Got my Rostock Max all built and up and running

Yep thats a filastruder with my own case design I made. I also got in early on the extrusion bot so I will be interested in seeing the difference of the internal design differences.

Re: Source for wood used with Rostock?

So I found a source. Sadly they won't ship but they do carry they exact stuff in white/black and they also have about a dozen other wood veneers like bamboo/cherry/walnut/etc. I was impressed and the price was $26 for a 4x8 sheet and for $5 they cut it down to size so it was ready to fit my laser ...

Sadly Home Depot only carries that 3/4" particle board junk you find in IKEA style furniture.

Got my Rostock Max all built and up and running

Took me about 3 nights (20hrs ish) and I'm happy but now the mod's will begin. I have my own laser cutter, mill and other printers to go crazy with. Let be honest off the shelf stock isn't for me. :) Here are a couple quick test videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnJ_wJGv4gY http://www.youtube ...

Source for wood used with Rostock?

So I can get the normal 5mm Birch ply and any acrylic I want however I just finished my Rostock Max build and I already see things I want to do to improve it. I have my own laser cutter and I would like to make my parts out of the same material that seemecnc is using in their kits. Anyone know a ...

New Extruder Wire Management

So my build is coming along nicely however I got the new bowden mount where its hung from the top plate and the spool sits on top of the machine. My problem is how are people running the wires down to the RAMBO? Also how are people getting the filament from the top plate to the bowden extruder ...
