Re: 3D printed rocket contest at MRRF!

Subclass: non-fuel powered rockets, entire rocket, launcher etc has to be printed except nuts bolts screws for assembly. Propulsion limited to mechanical means such as springs, bungee, surgical tubing. I like it :) What about compressed Air propulsion? Only if source of compressed air was printed :D

That's not a problem,,,, I have no boss at home,,,, I'm referring to the Boss at work, who might find that its operation would be to distracting! I would at least be printing out 3d business cards. Re: Don't buy That Machine Until 11/27

I bought a MAX just before the new model came out, was I sour grapes? Heck no, I bought the best printer available on the market at the time I made my selection and I was happy with it. Happy to see the company I purchased from innovating, making progress and staying on the top of it's game. Still ...

Re: Enclosure build to print ABS and Nylon bigger and faster

"Also designed up some lower mount retaining plates that pin it to the extrusion. I saw something like this in rymnd's heated enclosure thread, but no STL's were attached so I printed my own. If anyone wants the STL, I'll post it up (its a very tight fit)." Could you post the STL file for the ...

Re: 3D Printing in 3 Dimensions

I'm not so sure that MasterCAM or SurfCAM could not be set up to do this kind of tool path right now, If you think in terms of a micro ball end mill machining out a cavity, the cavity actually being the additive part we are making. Thing is these programs command a hefty price tag. Our Printers are ...

Re: My first Smoothieboard prints, wow!

The question I have to ask though is what did you slice it with as well? The nude appears to have G02, G03 radius moves rather than the G01 facets we are all used to, question is can the RAMBO handle this sort of move or does it take Smoothieboard power to do so? All this time I had been thinking it ...

Re: Why oh why can't I get ABS to stick?!

The one time I forgot to use the glue stick I had just cleaned the glass squeaky clean, the part stuck so well it pealed the base layer off in places. What was remarkable was the beautiful tight surface finish I got on the intact portion of the print...now if I could find something that smooth but ...

Re: RotoMAAK rotational Casting

Thanks, I am familiar with the wax injecting process, too much wax would be needed for what we have in mind. Many repeat parts but fairly large volumes so rotational casting might be the trick. We were going to go with printing PLA with low density fills but this would mean many long prints which up ...

Re: Why oh why can't I get ABS to stick?!

Also the Elmer's glue, don't take that too literally, it's not the white glue in the bottle but glue stick like a big chapstik. I use one from Office Depot made by Avery, the label people.
The ABS should give off a slight odor when it is extruded, smells like a melting Styrofoam cup.

Thanks Gene, I need to look at why there is an issue with the directory structure like that, does not make sense. I have written a lot of sketches and not seen this problem.
Just very happy to have my printer back.
